Do we know they were even from the deadline? I was thinking they were just from this offseason.

Are you mistakenly reading “Mittlestadt”, instead of “Middleton”?

More likely it's for Kate Middleton. They heard she has something to do with a King, and thought they could acquire her in a trade with L.A.

I'm just assuming. There would be no reason for them to be made in the off-season.
A team might make a spec jersey if they're trying to woo a UFA to sign with them, so they invite him to tour the city and arena and end the tour by showing him a jersey with his name on it hanging in the dressing room.
None of those four guys are the type of player you would do that for. Soucy and Middleton weren't even free agents this summer. Braun and Staal both signed low-value 1-year 35+ contracts on the day free agency opened. The Oilers weren't likely even in the mix for them.
The only logical reason for those jerseys to exist would be if the equipment staff was told to prepare them in case the Oilers acquired the player(s) at the deadline while the team was on the road. Of course, it's the Oilers, so logic isn't necessarily in the equation.

I just read a rumour that was started by Steve MacFarlane, and posted on a Bruins insider page that Boston was trying to aquire Hanifin, but the Flames wouldn’t budge on their asking price- which apparently started at Pastrnak….

I saw this too... Hanifin + Dube + Pelts for Pastrnak?? Make it happen TRE!
Huberdeau Lindholm Pastrnak
Mang Kadri Toffoli
Milano Backlund Coleman
Lucic Ruz Lewis
Weegar Anderson
Kylington Tanev
Meloche Zadorov

I don't think it would be that big of an add for Pastrnak to be honest. Hanifin is on a sweet deal for two years and Pasta is a UFA this year. Guessing the add would only be a prospect or draft pick. But would have to move Dube likely to make the $$ work.

Hanifin, 2023 2nd, and Lucic for Pasta and Foligno
Obviously not going to happen now but that’s what I’d be looking at. Lucic and Foligno are balance salary going back.

Pastrnak would be the only real upgrade trading Hanifin for, but don't need to add a bunch either Hanifin and a prospect should be enough.

I agree, doubt the deal happens though considering Marchand being out etc. Although maybe could be enticed with Dube to help fill in. Nice to think about for sure. How good would Pasta look on a line with Lindholm and Huberdeau? My goodness.

Pastrnak is a pending UFA. I think if anyone was to add it would be the Bruins.

Really not sure what to expect from Boston over the next few years… I keep expecting them to drop off as their core gets older but they keep it going in the regular season it seems. If they lose Pastrnak in the offseason and if Bergeron eventually starts to drop off or retires, I have to think they’ll be headed into a rebuild soon.

Yeah, if you're trading Hanifin you better be getting a legit superstar back. He's so underrated here, and he's deceivingly young still.
