We have a 14 year old shiba ina. Dont let the funny cute part fool you. They are very smart and tend to have their own mind and do things the way they want more often than not. These dogs are only for special patient dog owners only.

A friend of mine has one. Definitely independent and aloof. It would walk around like it had ADD and had really poor recall. It reminded me of what a wild fox would be like if you let it loose in your house.

This is our first dog, and I agree to the above you need to be incredibly patient with this breed.

But we love her to bits and pieces, such a personality (the good with the bad).
