if you love crime podcasts you'll love Dark Poutine
Haha, I guess I wrote down your suggestion wrong because I stumbled upon a podcast called Dark Topic which is also Canadian, and I've quite enjoyed it the past couple of days. It's not my typical true crime podcast in that it's just a single guy telling a story, but I've warmed up to him and quite like his voice and his storytelling demeanor.
I'm going to try Dark Poutine today----could use a bit of comedy
Thanks again!
Edit: Haha, no comedy at all.... but I still like it!

Huh. Did not see that coming. I expect this will another 15+hour series.
When the heck is Carlin going to do the history podcast that he was born to produce - the Conquest of Mexico? It's so obviously in his wheelhouse: dramatic, extreme, full of incredible personalities, brutal, colourful, epic.
I find it amusing that Mike Duncan moved to France (he's writing/researching a book about Gilbert du Motier... the Marquis de Lafayette) right after he finished the series on the Paris Commune and thus won't have any more revolutions occuring in France to cover.

I enjoy a few of the Kevin Smith podcasts like Fatman on Batman and Hollywood Babble-on. I find them good to listen to in the background at work. Anyone have any recommendations to something similar?
I hope this can become one of your favourite podcasts....
I am hosting a new calgary-focused podcast called Common Ground YYC. First guest is U of C Economist Trevor Tombe. It's available through this link but will soon be available on the major podcast platforms for subscription like itunes (it's going through their approval process now).
The shock and outrage over Musk taking a puff on a joint is so dumb. It's legal in California. Why is it anymore wild and irresponsible than the whisky he was drinking?

One baby hit off a spliff damn near turned Elon into the Grinch, just imagine what might happen if he were to ever truly get down with the dank. The world was right to shudder with fear at the thought of such peril.

Depends on whether you are judging it from a moral or economic perspective, morally there's no difference, economically it was an act of suicidal stupidity from a guy that seems to be specializing in acts of monumental stupidity these days, Musk seems to be purposefully sabotaging Tesla at this point.
