I think OMG!WTF! was being serious. Samuel L Jackson will do anything for money. I called him to take care of some troublesome wasps.

To be fair, that joke should have been pronounced dead about three weeks after it came out. It's been on life-support for the past decade.

I would have walked into the 1st class/business class section to double check they weren't lying about not having anymore seats. And as gross as it is having bed bugs pour out of a seat in front of you, what about the poor guy/gal sitting IN that seat?

Did the person sitting in the seat with bed bugs not have any issues?

You mean "the source"?

So they got bites, watched bedbugs crawl around and then potentially spread the bugs at the AirBnB?

I didn't assume that the person sitting there was the source. I just wondered if they were the only people who had issues, since I'm assuming the people sitting in the seats with the bed bugs would have bites too.

The article stated:
“Once we arrived at our Airbnb … we put everything through the washing machine on the hottest heat we could, put everything in plastic bags, sanitized everything that we could."
I guess they tried to remedy it. Water above 45degC should be sufficient.

My wife's old coworker had a horror story about bed bugs, which to this day has caused us to literally check every hotel bed we use...
Strip sheets, lift up mattress, look under, repeat...

Speaking of head lice: the new principal wants all the children to throw all their jackets, scarves and toques into a big bucket outside of the classroom. Because he wants the classrooms to be locked at lunchtime and this way the kids get their clothes. He refuses to put hangers up in the hallway to separate them. I forsee a huge lice outbreak in the school in the next month.
I hate head lice. Creepy.

Hypothetically though, what do you do if you find some? Like you're in a hotel and you do that and then what?
I just ask because I'm heading on a group trip in a couple weeks and while I'm not paranoid, I don't want to see that scenario! But in a situation like that we have a significant sized contingent, so I can't really just leave that hotel. I don't know what I would do I suppose.

Blech. Just took a BA flight to London recently. First time in business class with those pod things and it was awesome. Never even considered bed bug issues.

Just a guess, but the bed bug incident was likely on the old 767s that BA was using for years on their Heathrow flights to western Canada. Were you on the 787? I would be pretty surprised if the bed big incident happened on a new plane.
That said, Im not sure how bed bugs are spread? Maybe the age of the plane, or more specifically the age of the cabin and fabrics, is irrelevant and it was just poor maintenance. Could have been an old 767 that was sitting in a hangar for ages and they had to deploy last minute.

Yeah, nothing really to worry about, as it was a 787. I guess the story just opened by eyes to the idea that terrible things could be present. I mean how well do they clean these planes? It feels like they don't have much time on the ground, but are they taken out of circulation for a deep steam clean regularly?

Looks like the 787 to me. No window shades? But then it doesn't have the buttons for the window on those seats. Not sure now...
