I should've looked into it more though - I sat down with my family thinking we were watching a Christmas movie and it was over before we knew it. Good, but pretty short.

Yeah LOL not enough time to finish the popcorn. Follow it up with Charlie Brown?

Me queuing up Jingle All The Way for my kids and seeing the 20% RT score
"Why is it so low? I remember really liking this movie as a kid"
And after watching it again as an adult
"Oh now I get it, 20% is being quite generous"
At least my 6-year old liked the finale

I never took a liking to Home Alone. I recall taking one of my kids 30 years ago and haven't watched it all the way through again until this week.
It's cute, we might start the sequels tonight. They are at least five now which is unsurprising.

What's your excuse? I'm Jewish (and married a catholic) - that's mine for being so behind on christmas pop culture.

Just not my thing. I'm not a big comedy guy, and even less a physical comedy guy.

Ah, 'tis the season for certain types of guys to insist Die Hard is a Christmas movie again.

We have a pretty basic Telus Optik package, but I'm having a tough time finding many Xmas shows on there so far this month. Where's the classics like Frosty or Charlie Brown? Seems like it's tough to find anything. At least I have Christmas Vacation on the PVR.

They were all on CBC on the weekend.
I recorded them but they are also available on CBC Gem for free. (Frosty, Rudolph, and the Grinch I think)

There is some family and Christmas-y parts to it which make it a decent enough flick for this time of year.

Candycane Lane was terrible. I really don't understand what that story was.
They took jumping the shark and applied it 10 different times.

There are only two Home Alones.
Trust me.

Thanks for this. Daughter and I have been on a bit of a Christmas movie binge and we'll skip this one.
Spirited wasn't bad if you keep your expectations in check. Was at least nice to watch something for the first time.

I can't think of a better actor to play Viking Santa Claus than David Harbour.
Violent Night was the best Christmas movie I'll never watch again. Solid 3 stars.
