Nope. My wife has an iPhone 6 and I have a 6S+. Neither have any issues whatsoever connecting via wifi.

You don't use MAC filtering on your router do you? I forgot I had that enabled to only allow devices I explicitly allow via the router admin page and had the same problem.

If you read the above and said "WTF?" then you can ignore my question. It is something you would need to explicitly enable with understanding of the feature.

Anyone give the new AppleTV a spin yet? Thinking of nabbing one tonight and was curious about the initial reaction.

I have one. Haven't played with it that much, but so far it's pretty cool. Much faster than previous models and better design. Of course the key is Siri - one thing Apple has done great is consolidate search. For instance I searched for Blade Runner - Siri opens up a screen that shows which services it's on - in this case it was on HBO Now and iTunes, so I could choose which service to watch on (I have Unblock on to get US stuff).

So far really great. I love it.

Are there any music services on it for apps? Looking to get one if I can use Rdio or 8tracks on it.

Nothing as of yet. Rdio mentioned in July on facebook they weren't planning an app but that might change and probably will once developers jump on board with the apple tv

I've been impressed so far. Easily the most responsive TV box I've ever used. They knocked it out of the park on the software + hardware front. The touchpad is really nice to use and makes it quick to jump around the UI. Everything is responsive and loads extremely fast.

Could always use more apps but the ones that are there are promising. CBC already has a news app that includes live streaming of The National (and a replay afterwards). Would love to see a few more of the Canadian networks jump on board though.

There are a few complaints — photos is out of date and doesn't seem to do a very good job of caching, and the iOS remote app hasn't been updated yet.

Also, I gotta mention Apple Music, because it's UI actually makes sense on the TV (still horrid on the desktop though...).

Overall I'd probably give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. It's a solid release that nails the fundamentals, but a software update or two wouldn't hurt.

No, DEP has nothing to do with carriers. A lot of corporate and education iOS devices are wifi only anyway. DEP essentially just allows you to enroll devices into an MDM server and deploy all profiles and settings over the air, without manual set up by IT staff. Convenient for multiple reasons- IT staff may not work on site, might have multiple locations, device can be sent directly to sales people in the field etc. Problematic for BYOD devices- obviously the owner of the device doesn't want Apple to think the organization owns that device.

Anyone know of a good source for USB-C adapters? Sounds like there are a ton of problems with the Apple multiport adapter, but there doesn't seem to be much choice for 3rd party ones, even on monoprice. There's plenty of aliexpress, but with insane shipping. Anywhere else I might be missing?

I can't wait for the major CDN banks to adopt Apple Pay.

In another 5 years.

Hey CP - looking for some feedback from experienced users...
I'm looking to replace my desktop and am considering the Mac Mini (2.6) or the iMac 21.5 - which is the better device (I have a standard monitor, kb & mouse) for a basic home computer (music and photography for the most part) at a reasonable price?
Thanks!

If you've got the budget get an iMac. It will be better in almost every way.

There were some accidentally published TD support pages for Apple Pay about a month ago.

Meanwhile, banks in Austriala are being accused of anti-competitive behaviour in not allowing customers to use Apple Pay. Sound familiar?

And it's worth point I got this isn't an Apple vs. The world issue. It's big banks vs. Payment tech. Android's equivalent also is being locked out.
