Here is a highlight package of Gawdin made by the WHL. It looks like he has a hell of a release.

Valimaki with 1G and 1A in a 8-4 loss to Everett. He was even on the night.

Also should be mentioned Tri City outshot Everett 33-28 and it wasn't score effect late shots. TC outshot them in each of the first 2 periods and tied in shots in the 3rd.

Swift Current dropped back to back games both by a score of 5-1 to Lethbridge. Looks like Gawdin missed both games? If that's the case clearly they missed him.

Series now tied at 2-2.

Everett beats Tri city 3-1. Valimaki with 1A.

Everett now up 3-1 in the series. Carter Hart seems to be the difference thus far.

Tri City up 4-1 in the 3rd trying to stay alive in the series. Valimaki had 2G. Series will be 3-2 Everett if they hang on.

Swift Current win 4-3 to take a 3-2 series lead as Gawdin has 1A.

Intriguing skill set here. Looks like good hockey sense, decent enough skater, and has a really good release.

Valimaki is going to get NHL time next year IMO, the guy also looks so impressive IMO.

Heres Valimaki’s second goal, he now leads the Americans in points in the series with 8 pts in 5. He has 13 pts in 11 playoff games.

Nice write up by Gilbertson on Valimaki

In the article Valimaki hints that he is aiming on playing with the Flames next year, saying he wants to be a leader next year in Calgary. I like that and I think he could make a big splash next year. One of the more underrated prospects but he’s got all the tools.

It's nice to hear from him and he said similar things last off-season as well. Even if the Flames trade a defenseman I don't see Valimaki playing more than a handful of games in the NHL next season. A full season in the AHL would be very beneficial for him. Kylington should be a lot more NHL ready at this point. Andersson will take the 3rd pairing RH D spot if Stone is traded.

I think because Valimaki is able to play in Stockton you might be right, but if he has a very good camp and looks good in pre-season he could make it a tough decision. He’s a very refined player already which is why I wouldn’t rule out him making the team. Lots depends on the offseason moves that will be made this summer.

One thing I noticed anytime I have watched Valimaki play is that he has silky smooth mits.

Valimaki with 3 assists in a 3-2 game tonight while his TC team tries to force a game 7.

Gawdin has an assist in the Broncos 4-1 lead on Lethbridge...looks like the broncos are moving on.

Gawdin has 2 assists as SC hangs on for a 5-1 victory and advances to WHL final.

Valimaki with 4 assists now in a 5-3 game in the 3rd period.

Everett scores about 6 minutes into OT and Valimaki's season (and likely junior career) is over

Next stop Stockton, or maybe even Calgary

That's pretty rough, up 5-2 nearly half way through the 3rd and end up losing. On the plus though Valimaki still gets 2nd star. Kids gonna be a stud.
