Tims can do away with almost everything on their menu if they just go back to making donuts and bagels in store again. If they can't get those two core products right, stop branching out so much.

Also, safeway is better but they use too much sugar, both in the dough and in the topping. Not even much of a personal preference thing. Just overdoing it for some reason, like they never tasted their own product to check.

At least it's fresh.

I like the texture of Safeway doughnuts, but I think they are too sweet to the point it feels like syrup in your mouth. That's kinda gross. Krispy Kreme is in the same vein for this IMO if I have more than one.

Timmies I like that they aren't as sweet, but I agree the texture sucks.

Voodoo and Blue Star in Portland were completely different categories to the above two (and perhaps even to each other), but push comes to shove, felt closer to the Safeway group.

Glazed croissants with chocolate drizzle from Safeway are as close to crack cocaine as you can get. Or at least I think so, I’ve never smoked crack but I would assume it’s pretty good judging from the amount of return customers.

I could easily eat a dozen. Maybe 24 before I got sick. 36 with a doobie.

Any real bakery should put out really good donuts. The thing about Safeway though is they are almost everywhere, so it’s a reliable and close source of nice donuts. It wouldn’t hurt if they had some variety though, but any Safeway donut is better than a specialty TH donut.

This is what I don't like. I do not have a huge sweet tooth so I find glazed donuts to be way to much. That is the reason I could never understand the love for Krispy Kreame when they were around.
The donuts that Safeway makes that are not glazed are quite good though.

The only thing half good at Tim Horton's now are the icecaps and steep tea, one needs to sharpen your teeth to bite into what they call the bread for sandwiches, you have to ask what donuts are fresh or they could be stale and the world famous coffee now tastes like sewer water.

When the Wendy's group owned Tim Horton's they mostly left them alone and they thrived but when Burger King took over it's been a downhill spiral that probably wont recover.

Tim Hortons has been crap since they stopped doing their own baking in store. Not sure who they can expect to have a good food product when even the hot food comes in frozen and sits in a reheating tray all day.

No one would eat a McDonald's breakfast sandwich, if it was prepared that way. Not sure why Tim Hortons has been getting a pass for so long.

Literally no other doughnut can beat this, and Ive tried my share of doughnuts!
