Default 'Trololo' singer dies

http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/2012/06/04/19833781.html

Eduard Khil, the Soviet-era singer who became better known as the Trololo guy when a 1970s performance went viral a couple of years ago, has died.

Sad day indeed. Love this song and can't believe how long it gets stuck in your head for!

I had assumed he'd been dead for ages. If anyone deserved a trip to the Gulags it was that guy for that song.

Probably the clearest, best lyrical written song ever.

I like the version from earlier this year - great way to go out for the guy, singing the song in front of a huge crowd. The shots of people in the audience are hilarious.

Trolololo when it came out was my favourite trolling weapon in Halo 3 multiplayer. I would loop the track on my iphone speaker off youtube, put it right next to the headset mic and just let it play, over, and over, and over. Man did I get team killed a lot. It was hilarious when you would sneak up on guys and the proximaty mic would kick in.... and they took an energy sword in the back and had to listen to trolololo as they were getting tea-bagged/corpse punched.

Surely, this man had to be a huge influence on the great Tom Monroe.
