There used to be a website called jumptheshark that had almost every TV show you could imagine and you could vote and/or comment on when you thought that show jumped (if at all). Too bad it's no more, it was a good website.

News Radio both ended too soon but also jumped the shark.
Basically if Phil Hartman hadn't passed the show should have and could have gone on longer.
But without him it lost its heart.

-ER jumped after Dr. Greene died.
-The Newsroom sadly jumped with season 2 after an amazing first season. Got better a bit with season 3.
-Misfits jumped after Season 2 with all the cast changes.
-Arrow jumped after an amazing first/second season but it's on the CW so it'll continue for another 12 seasons.
-Cheers jumped for me personally when it was revealed Sam wore a hairpiece. Was so out of character (it probably jumped before that though).

House of Cards jumped to shark to varying degrees throughout the show.

It started early with the push into the train and was made official with the push down the stairs in the most recent season.

Xena warrior princess when they kept hinting Xena would get it on with her little buddy Gabrielle and they never did. Don't really know if that qualifies, but I sure was disappointed after hanging on for that long, to be left without the closure.

I'm glad that you mentioned Misfits. It started off so damn strong.

The TV show the jumped the shark most for me was Three's Company. I just lost it when I was 12 years old and they swapped out Suzanne Sommers for the girl that played Chrissy.

All the pent up teenage feelings hoping Jack Tripper would end up with the ultimate idea of Three. Every episode a teenage disappointment.

Then real life bummers of Jack Tripper dying and now I see Ann Hedgeworth has also passed away.

The Blacklist has gone down the tubes this season. It all started last year when Reddington had all his fourtune taken from him. Now he lives in a Holiday Inn and does his dealings by the pool on cheap patio tables.

Definitely agree with the ER comment! The show was never the same.

Ha! I remember Sam’s hairpiece. I think that was the last episode right? If so, good time to jump the shark!

It was for sure in the final few episodes of the last season, it just really bothered me and seemed out of character for Sam.
