It's not going to be easy, but if they really get it together we can probably manage a regulation loss. Hopefully the team has focused on hangovers and getting the flu lately.

This is exactly the situation when the very good Flames show up!

Interested in seeing Okhotiuk again. I seem to recall he impressed me with his speed in a rush up the ice. I'm hoping that impression is confirmed tonight.

The team needs a win, I get that the better the draft position the better the pick, all the same prospect development is important, and the losses can be a war of attrition.

If the Flames lose and Kraken & Penguins win , we may drop and draft top 8.
I think Penguins don't have chance against Hurricanes. But Kraken may win against Ducks and get 71 points tied with us.

I think there's still a few weeks left before that gets decided.

The realistic window for the Flames right now, is 8th-12th.

However, with their schedule, I just can't see them tanking their way to 8th. My guess is they finish between 10 and 12th, and the final game of the season - at home to SJS - is a W that pushes them up (down?) a spot.

Yep, for me it's all about the young players that are currently on the team improving and also feeling like the team is actually making progress and not being stuck in a rut for years.

If they win the lottery, they win the lottery. If they end up picking 5th, 8th, 12th, 15th I don't care. Just pick the right player.

Please get the two big points (loser points I mean).

This will be the first for the last 20 years that I plan to skip watching a game. No more enthusiasm for these veterans.

how does it compare to Seattle, Pitt and Buffalo's schedule?

edit. Buffalo and Pittsburgh have tough schedules; Seattle has a schedule similar to the Flames

Huberdeau - Zary - Coronato
Kuzmenko - Kadri - Pospisil
Mangiapane - Sharangovich - Greer
Pelletier - Backlund - Coleman

Something like that is what we should see to end the season.

I can see why you might alternate Markstrom and Wolf to close it out. But yeah, give Coronato a chance higher in the lineup. Mangiapane can play out on the 4th line from here.
