Don't stress, this is part of the plan. A plan for tomorrow!

I liked their compete level, but man, the skill difference is very noticeable at the moment. Gonna be a few years before this team is truly good again.

Hit the post on a beauty setup at 2-1, then fumble a high dump-in for a penalty and it’s 3-1.
Yeah they’re the better team but small margins given the discrepancy in the high quality finishers between the two teams.

From an entertainment perspective this game was about the same caliber as the Flames. Not good enough.

Honestly best case scenario. I hope we lose every game while playing close competitive hockey. If we can sneak into top 8 that would be amazing.

Flames really should have scored on the shift with Kylington’s spinorama, that would have been sick.
Special teams continue to be horrible, these coaches are out of their depth.

I still disagree with this.
This roster is a bottom-10 roster w/ a near-vezina quality goalie.

Yet, other teams that have a similar level of skill as the Flames, such as a Nashville, are play-off bound.
Huska is okay-ish, but he's not a good coach that can get the most from his teams.
Also, Sharangovich went 1 for 11 in the dot tonight. The Flames need to find him a FO trainer if they're keeping him at center.

I hope one of Mangiapane or Weegar traded after the season. Markstrom too.
Conroy looks like to sign a couple of veteran guys for 1 year deal so I think it's good idea to cash when Weegar is having the best season.

Nashville has a better roster.
Filip Forsberg: 78 points
Roman Josi: 72 points
Gustav Nyquist: 63 points
Ryan O’Reilly: 58 points
Thomas Novak: 39 points
Vs.
Nazem Kadri: 59 points
Blake Coleman: 51 points
Yegor Sharangovich: 50 points
Jonathan Huberdeau: 43 points
Mackenzie Weegar: 40 points
They’re a good deal more talented. The only place the Flames are on-par with the Predators is in net with Marky/Saros.

I'll agree that its not the 'only' problem, but its still 'a' problem.
If you dont have the talent available to enforce your vision, you have to adapt to that, and I dont see them doing that.
There are many issues and the structure of the powerplay is certainly one of them.

In particular, the Flames don't have anyone near the level of Josi.
