Maybe, though the closer he gets to the end of the year, the less disruption there will be, since he would probably just relocate himself and his family would stay put (or go to wherever he sees himself going after the season ends).

Me neither, so much James Neal vibes. Sure he can score given the chance but everything else he does is pretty horrible.

Just watching highlights of JVR goals from last year. He's a tipping and rebound machine. Pretty sure Keith Jones would refer to his "net front presence" seven times per game.

Lucic is going nowhere except maybe a pick if the Flames is out of the playoffs

We've been missing that since Tkachuk bolted.

For sure. It’s literally the only positive of his game imo.

They won't. In the summer when Monny was moved Tre said moving the 2023 1st round pick with non negotiable.

Non-negotiable in the Monahan trade context doesn't mean out of the question for another move. I hope we keep the pick, but you never know with this team.

I don't love a lot about the player in terms of mileage and injury history, but this is the type of player that could have a big impact on this flames team that has a need for net front presence.
Is this team worth flipping a top prospect or first round pick for the guy? I'm not sure i'm convinced.

Yeah the Flames throw a ton of pucks on net. If more of them start getting tipped in...

Who would you add to allow Konecny to fit under the salary cap the following season?

Unit 1:
Mangiapane
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Kadri
Andersson

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Kane would be just as good as the first line we had last year.
On the Lucic front, I doubt anyone would be interested, but if we can move him and gain any sort of asset it's worth it.

The only move the flames should be making is a hockey deal, not a rental. Even if and that's a big if they make it into the playoffs the chances of this team doing anything is pretty slim. Not worth loosing picks over and over again just to get bounced.

I could see the Flames do Lucic a solid if they are out, and trade him to a contender. Flames would need to eat 50% and even then there might need to be a sentimental portion with a team like Boston. I doubt Boston would use their 2.3M space on Lucic, but the numbers almost work. That being said the Flames will keep Lucic and have him or a long playoff run.
