We should probably go to one of those places. I am debating a trip to Canadas North this summer. No exchange rate, amazing fishing and I write a major exam in June that will require some celebration.

I know a guide that takes people for sea-run Arctic Char. Every summer he asks if this is the year I go.
I think the black flies and mosquitoes would be really bad though?

At least you'll know what colors to tie on.

I could be getting swarmed by African Killer Bees, and still have a great time palm-dragging that monster!

I went to the fly-fishing expo yesterday an talked to you guy from a lodge. My original hope was to go for June 21 and try to fish for 24 hours! He said the bugs are terrible at that time and it's awesome in about the first two weeks of August. Maybe this is the year? It would be awesome!

I'm just going to start peppering this thread with hammer handle pics now..
Not sure if anyone here is a fan of Uncut Angling, Manitoba based fishing show.. but they had a contest between Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan they held where three teams fished in a multi-fish contest for 39 hours straight. Biggest fish over 12 inches in each category gets a point, the first three episodes are up so far, spoilered for size of videos.

I might show up to drink while you guys tie. I can't possibly tie anything worth putting in front of a fish if I plan on catching anything.

You could do a SJ Worm or Brassie beadhead. Very easy.

Conservationists call for stronger cutthroat trout protection
http://calgaryherald.com/news/local-...out-protection
I'd go as far as supporting catch and release only in the Eastern Slopes, but water quality is probably the biggest problem.
Cutthroat Trout are the greatest of all God's creations.

^ I totally support this. I was hoping that the Castle Crown policy they put through earlier this year was going to be a lot tougher than it was actually. Instead its sort of a "no more logging, but other stuff is fine" kind of thing, and that's too bad.
I would like to see only catch and release period for all trout in flowing waters. I don't know if you would even get any pushback politically or anywhere, so its strange they haven't gone that way in that sense.

That's a nice fat one. I was at a conference on the weekend and the speaker was saying that the bow river trout have been much chubbier than they were in years past.
