They need carroll for his defense and tenacity if they want any chance in the playoffs.

Also lost in DeRozan's hot start, Casey is coaching quite well. Putting Powell on Porzingas probably wouldn't pay off over a whole game, but as a way to disrupt the NYK offense in the closing minutes, it was devastatingly effective. He's working around giving guys like Carroll and JV lots of rest as they're nursing injuries.

The upcoming Cleveland / GS back-to-back seems downright unfair! I'd be really happy with a split on that.

Andrew Wiggins dropped 47 points on the Lakers tonight. First Canadian to score over 40 points in an NBA game.

Nash had 42 points back in 05 or 06 against the Wizards (also had 48 in a playoff game against the Mavericks in 05 or 06)

Hell of a start to the 4th quarter. Let's see if they can close it out...

Raptors need another piece to compete With the Cavs. If they don't get that, they are wasting their time.

Need that 4. But who is really available that is worth getting? Every other position is pretty good. Need to keep feeding Powell minutes too even when Carroll is back.

I don't follow the NBA that much but this Phil Jackson vs Lebron feud is kind of interesting.

Is Lebron seriously upset Jackson used the word "posse"? What a crybaby.

Really entertaining game. A key weakness for this team seems to be offensive rebounding... tonight's not the first night this season that weak rebounding has been a big factor in the other team's runs; JV, Patterson, Nogueira, Siakam all need to be more aware and give a little more effort in that. As dangerous as Frye's shooting is, he let the Raptors build up a lead because Cleveland's offensive rebounding dropped off a lot with him in the game.

Still, I like where the Raptors are. They need Carroll playing (and playing well) as Powell just doesn't have the size or strength to guard big SFs that are so prevalent in the NBA.

LeBitch feels that the comment is racist towards young African Americans. I'm confused on how that comment is racially moviated?

The stat that impressed me the most in tonight's game (was mentioned just after JV's pick set up Ross for the dagger 3), the Raptors lead the league in screen assists. And it's not just JV: he, Nogueira, and Poeltl are all top 20 in screen assists per game.

A little while ago I had the thought, 'what if DeRozan actually kept this streak going longer than Jordan in 86-87'? So I went and looked up the game-logs. And Jordan's numbers from that year are absolutely jaw-dropping... his first 12 games were actually a slow start... from games 12-20 that year, he had 40+ in every single one.

Casey gets a tremendous amount of hate on here for the offence they run. Here's a very interesting tactical article that touches on that...

Wow. You want to see bush league. Watch the end of that Raptors game. Probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life.
