Best Deal for Keg Beer
Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on kegs. I need two and have got them from Wildrose and Willow park but want to know if I can get a good deal else where.

I've always got them from Willow Park or Crowfoot Liquor.
I've heard Brewsters does them as well.
Good thread, any recommendations would be appreciated by me as well.

I've had a few Brewster's kegs, they are somewhat inconsistent with quality though, we've had some great ones and a few that tasted awful.
My friends and I are hooked on the Wild Rose Keg Pigs, we just hang on to them and fill them on a weekend.

Wild Rose seems to be the most affordable from what I have seen.

from WILD ROSE BREWERY
Cost is $50 for a full Pig + $40 refundable deposit 8.5L - ~25 bottles
Two options when you're done:
EXCHANGE - Bring in your empty Pig and we'll sell you another full Pig for $50
RETURN - Bring back your empty Pig and we'll refund your $40 deposit (but really, why would you want to do that!)

I got a big keg at wildrose. It was about 200 bones plus a 200 dollar deposit. about 20 university students and there was still some left in the morning. Great beer too.

I've had alot of good times with buyingAGD Alberta Genuine Draft instead of the big name brands. it is delicious.
wild rose would be nice cuz they are fairly unique

Yeah, I was just gonna come in here and say that AGD is a decent option. While it may be terrible in the can, it's awesome out of a keg. We had a Kokanee keg one time, and it just wasn't up to snuff. Dunno if those in charge of tapping it failed hard, or if it was just skunky, either way it was less than enjoyable.

I used to get Kokanee Gold kegs from Beerland ($200) beside the Cecil but since it does not exist anymore, I haven't had a keg party in awhile.....

Me too! That was the cheapest place. We bought more than a few kegs there over the years but yeah, nothing in a while.

Kokanee keg on the weekend... still feeling it in the gut.
Avoid it at all costs!

I don't understand the attraction in buying beer by the keg. I thought it was cheaper than by the bottle or can, but at $50/ 25 bottles, it is about the same. Is the experience of draft beer over bottled beer really worth the hassle of getting a keg, tapping it, having to drink it all at one time, the trouble in keeping it cold, the foam you can get from it, the wasted beer, the inconsistent quality than many have spoken of here. It sounds like way too much hassle when I can just pick up a few dozen beers for my party.

Pretty much all the downside you describe is not applicable to the pigs.
You don't tap it, its small enough for a fridge, and it lasts for quite a few days.

The pig is more of a refillable box of wine (in the shape of a plastic pig), than it is a keg.
Actually, its basically one of those mini-heiniken kegs, but plastic, refillable, and shaped like a pig

The Keg Pigs don't need to be tapped, they have a pressurized bladder inside that inflates as you pour. We have nursed one for almost a month and it was still great.
Plus Wild Rose beer is delicious.

When you buy a keg of beer, you're also buying a good vibe for your party. C'mon man, don't be a wet blanket!

Sorry to bump an old thread but is Wildrose still the best place to get a keg?
