I can see him doing really well this year and a team making a mistake on him next year.

Happy for him, always enjoyed him with us especially part of our 3M line. Earned his contract and got us a draft pick.

Flames beat out the Habs 5 years ago when Frolik was a sought after UFA. Not surprised there is still a bit of interest and that is where he ended up.

The Habs are really stacking their wings. Interesting strategy.

Good for him...could still be very useful in the right role.

Also, Haula signed in Nashville for 1.75 for one year i just heard on the radio.

I don't think signing Frolik counts as stacking

He's a good utility guy to have on a team, especially with a condensed season. He'll continue to do Frolik things, which isn't a bad thing. Him and Byron on the PK might find some great chemistry.

There is always room in the bottom six for guys who kill penalties.

Good pro.

I’m a bit surprised that he got a deal prior to a try out. Things didn’t go all that well for him in Buffalo. He’s a damn solid $750K player though. Good signing.

Frolik really wasn't very good at much of anything last year but I think this is a good reclamation project add for the Habs.

Guy who's agent called out the Flames over playing time signs a league min deal at the last minute. He should tell his agent to STFU

It's 50k above the league minimum salary, what did you think he was going to get? Nothing?

He's an experienced NHL player who is responsible in his own end, and shouldn't be out of place with the speed of the game. The Flames dressed guys like Zac Rinaldo and Buddy Robinson in playoff games. Neither of those guys is remotely close to Frolik in terms of ability. So it's not shocking to see him still getting a chance to play somewhere.

I am sure this is answered elsewhere, but when someone signs for one year at 750K, is the salary then pro-rated for the reduced season length?

The players still get a $750,000 salary but it's paid at a greater daily rate because there are fewer days in the season.
