the Coutinho thing was already denied by several sources. Wouldn't have made sense at all, unless they had planned to use him or Özil at CB lol

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on there. I mean Eriksen needs to be shipped out this window if he won't sign a contract, or he leaves for free next summer. At the same time, why would he want to go to United? Everything seems to indicate he wanted to play at Madrid, who obviously don't to pay up for him, so it just doesn't make sense.
Maybe Spurs are keeping Eriksen, buying Fernandes and Lo Celso and going to compete with the big spenders? Maybe Levy is just preparing for the PL window to close this week and then that inevitable offer for Eriksen comes from someone on the continent and you basically have to take it or get zero for the guy? All perplexing.

you're favourites for Coutinho too apparently. Lo Celso seems off though, Spanish newspapers said Betis are fed up with the lowball offers and don't really need to sell now after getting rid of Firpo and Camarasa.

Didn't get mentioned a ton in here but Cutrone has the chance to be a real good signing for Wolves.
Kid has a lot of untapped potential IMO and didn't really get a fair shot at Milan last year once they brought in Piatek after a great first half of the season.
Weird to see two young Italian players (Kean and Cutrone) end up in the EPL, since you don't tend to see them make that move that often.
Overall though this has been a really weird transfer window as a whole. Not a whole lot of movement from any of the big EPL clubs, and seems like there are lots of rumors that are close to being "confirmed" just for them to go away.

especially since Milan viciously pushed out a homegrown talent like Cutrone just to sign Rafael Leao for crazy money. Don't get me wrong, Leao is a fine prospect and Cutrone had a difficult season, but man, still a bit of a headscratcher. Would be typical Milan though if Cutrone slayed it in England and Leao failed in Italy.
Everton will be interesting to watch too. Losing Gueye hurts them a lot, but apparently they are pushing to sign Doucoure ... which would be great for them. Personally don't rate Gbamin that much but paired with Doucoure that could be a solid, solid midfield. Kean will be great to watch too, obviously.

Yeah I saw that also. I try not to get too worked up about the rumours in general, mostly because it seems so insane and made-up. Who knows what the offers are and what the real prices for these players is?

well Coutinho would be a loan, so there's that.
Maybe you are trying to sign Fernandes, but want to sell Eriksen first? That would at least explain why United is apparently an option (confirmed by The Athletic).

We were linked to Fernandes earlier this summer, so maybe they dangle Eriksen to have United drop their interest in Fernandes? It just seems odd that Eriksen would go there for Europa League football when he could stay and play in the CL. But like I say, if he won't sign an extension, they've got to ship him out this window to get some money.
And Coutinho would be a loan, but there's no way that happens without at least the option to buy. That's apparently what killed the Ceballos deal, as that was a pure loan.

United don't have any interest in Fernandes, that has been established for a while now ... the journalists close to United have said repeatedly that the club has denied any interest and that Sporting and the agent were simply using them to create a market and a bidding war. Hasn't stopped the Portuguese media from linking him and di Marzio (who's fed by agents) joined the party too, but the reliable United sources say no.

yeah, as if Levy would agree to Dybalas wage demands ...
would be a fun triangle though. Lukaku to Juventus, Dybala to Spurs, Eriksen to United.

Apparently today we've signed everyone: Dybala, Countinho (imminent), Sessegnon x 2 and Fernandes. I mean sure...I guess that's possible. Is it rational or do all of these make sense though?

Dybala to Spurs would make me happy.
My two favourite clubs making the transfer instead of him going to Man U, so at least I can still cheer on Dybala.
Juve seemingly forcing Dybala out is still a head scratcher to me, but this is better than the rumored Lukaku swap IMO. Juve also seemingly close to completing the Danilo + 30mil for Cancelo swap...wonder what they have planned for the $100M.

Good move. Apart from I would kick it out for your own player. Wish more clubs would agree to this.

In acknowledging that they made top four and the CL final it's forgotten that they only got something shameful like eleven points from their last twelve games.
