I couldn't think of a better name for that POS than 'Miser'.

Fk that was dangerous. Jumping a GD Chevette.
When my buddy got a new car we went to pick-n-pull and got another donut tire, put 2 on it and just tore around an industrial park.

Those donuts make so much smoke someone called the Fire Department!

And yeah, you could get air in an old Chevette...

If I could find a Granny owned 96 Roadmaster with the tuned down LT1 V8, I'd snap that up in a heartbeat.

My dad had an 86 and 88 LeSabre which were both plagued by bad computers. But after about 91, any Buick with that 3800 series V6 be it the Lesabre, Regal, or Park Avenue would still run today if it's maintained.

I wish I still had my 78 Grand Prix SJ. It came with a 301 4BBL carb that would float down the highway and had plenty of power when you wanted to pass someone. Fun car to drive.

The thing had 150 hp and weighed 1.5 tonnes. "Plenty of power" may have been relative for 1978...

One my first rides was a 1976 Honda Civic CVCC. The CVCC stood for Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion for a rambunctious 60 hp and the car weighed only about 1500 lbs.

That car was so fun to drive.

It would most likely need to be an SUV now, but I wish one of the American premium brands made a modern version of the big ole' American boat, with an all out emphasis on couch-like comfort and smooth buttery ride. A modern take on classic American "luxury" that is inspired by things like plush velour surfaces (or rich Corinthian leather!), colorful interiors in red/blue/tabacco etc, bench seats that stretch for miles, wood and chrome instead of piano black plastic etc. Lincoln kinda sorta started doing with with the Continental and newer SUVs, but hasn't really gone all in. I would like one car that just forgoes any sporty/euro pretence, and goes all in on comfort (and not just with more screens and tech, because there's nothing luxurious about staring at another damn screen).

It doesn't have to be retro, but just how in the 90s/00s they made a lot of cars to play on Boomer's childhood memories, it may not hurt to start looking at us GenX/Millennial types who remember these cars that our parents/grandparents owned with some fondness. As much as I love 80s German cars, and glorious 90s JDMs, I also loved the old American boats. Whenever I get into a modern American car I'm disappointed how meh they look in comparison. Look inside a Cadillac, and it just seems like a hot mess of curves and plastic, but zero gravitas. I'm not buying something that looks as bland as a Toyota, or tries to ape the Europeans, when I can just get the originals. Those old cars may have been "classy" luxury, but damn if they didn't own it.

Now I know why my 1973 240Z with 150 hp and weighing in at just over 1 tonne was so much fun to drive.

I saw an honest to god K-Car the other day. Like the above cars, it was like seeing a dodo bird when you assumed they had all died off. It was in this powder blue:

0-60 in about 13.5 seconds. I still remember going on a test drive with my dad from Varsity Chrysler in one of these. I also remember it dying (smoke or steam was involved) on the test drive, on Crowchild North, right by that 2 lane bridge just before McMahon. We bought an Olds instead...

I love how these vintage sighting of cars are from 70-90 yr old owners who have some kept these beasts going. I mean, who even does work on a K-Car nowadays?

I've seen a few late model LeBarons rolling around lately too. Driven by teens. Mayhaps they're taking this retro love too far.

I haven't seen a K car or LeBaron in forever!

My mom drove a K car in the 80s, totalled by a teenager more intent on a cake sliding off the passenger seat than staying on the road. Got my first driving lessons in that POS!
