Or not. Correlation does not equal causation after all.

You mean the one appearance in 10 seasons? No thanks.

And yet, the Hurricanes have as many third-round appearances since 2002 as the Flames do dating back to 1971, plus a much more recent Stanley Cup.

If the Canes are in a pinch, I'm available. I've put together many simulated Stanley Cup winners on Playstation

I have vacation coming up, so giving two weeks notice is not an issue

What's wrong with bowl cuts? It's not Mark's fault the masses are slow to catch on to fashion trends.

Causation vs. correlation and all that Jazz.

The core of that team was all in place prior to Dundon taking over (Aho, Slavin, Pesce, Faulk, Teravainen, Williams, Staal)

Waddell (who was suggested by the NHL to help Dundon) made some decent moves in getting Niedereiter, Hamilton, Mrazek, McElhinney but i don’t think any of that really has to do with Dundon’s strategy.

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out longer term. .

What I found interesting was that the NHL requires teams to have a GM.

Would anyone be surprised if, in the event Waddell leaves, Dundon names himself GM?

When Burke fired Feaster, did he tag on the "interim GM" title to his position? (He would have had to, I guess.)

Do the NHL bylaws define the GM as the only designate to be able to make trades?

Yes, cheap out on a GM. But spend hundreds of millions on a sinking Football league.

I've said this a ton, and I'm not breaking any news.

Dundon is nuts.

Straight from the school of B.S., a la Mark Cuban. Hardly a shock they're buds.

What blow my mind is how owners can do this given how long it takes to build a competent team of personnel. The flames started putting a big emphasis on rebuilding it's drafting team and processes in 2003. We really didn't see results until 2011. That's the good part of a decade.

I was genuinely about to reply that 2006 isn't "Much more recent" than 2004. Talk about brainwashing ones self lmao

I'm old enough to remember that Darryl Sutter had a year to year handshake agreement with the flames and that Treliving went into a summer's worth of drafting and signings without a contract.

Huge asterix on their cup win. They played a team that was no good.
