It would be nice if they can reschedule some of the other postponed away games during that stretch.

This is honestly great.
The Flames are going to finish the season with an insanely higher amount of home games vs road games, helping them prepare for home ice advantage in the Playoffs.

I agree. Just wish we played at home like we do on the road

Odd that the Ottawa/Calgary game on the 13th remains in place as of now.

How is the Leaf game tomorrow not postponed? Seems odd.

What if the NHL set up a few arenas kind of like the bubble and catch up on postponed games that way, that would be one way to get the schedule all caught up and they could still have fans.

Awesome news! Would rather be at full capacity and crush beers and eat popcorn.

I was thinking that maybe because it is a Leafs game on a Saturday national broadcast, that the lost ad revenue would be too high to justify. But that wouldn't explain why the Jan. 13 Flames/Ottawa game is still on (apparently), which is on a Thursday.

Probably has something to do with 2 Canadian teams playing. Not postponing all the games and atill playing other Canadian teams maybe. That way the American teams road trips dont get disrupted. Just preventing american teams from having to come up here and miss games.

Plenty of inconsistencies with 2 canadian teams playing each other. The Oilers-Leafs game on Jan. 5 is scheduled yet the Oilers-Jets game on Jan. 16 is PPD. The Leafs-Habs game on Jan. 6 is also PPD. The Senators western Canada road trip is happening as explained by Sureloss. The Sens have also had 7 of their games already PPD.

What if a large number of those are back to back games?

Pretty easy to figure this one out. It's mostly in the OP. Games are postponed to maximize the amount of money made per game, and the games that are going forward are because they can't be rescheduled in order to make the leagues television commitments.

Just saying ALL of the American team games were postponed and some.of the Canadian-Canadian games are continuing.
I dont think thats a coincidence and Im not sure how that conflicts with Sureloss' post.

At the very least, they should reschedule the game vs. the Oilers from December 27th to January 15th. Both teams now have a gap in their schedule then and it would give them a late game for HNIC that night.
It would also be nice if they could find a spot for last night's game against Winnipeg. It looks like the Jets have a bunch of gaps in their schedule now.
They could also tack on another game to the end of this trip to make up either the Chicago or Nashville games. Both Chicago and Nashville have games on the 8th and 11th, so they could squeeze something in on the 10th.
