Bennett, IMO, is far more likely an offersheet candidate than Tkachuk. There's far too much talent available July 1 to blow your brains out on an elite RFA.

Conversely, I'd way rather risk paying Sam Bennett $3.5 for four or five years instead of a UFA.

If either of his linemates had any finish Calgary goes up 3-0 in that series.

The series where they were getting outshot 50-20? I don’t think finish was the only problem.

Don't overpay or underpay him and don't trade him.

Give him a fair contract.

Well agreed, except if you could underpay him that means him and his agent agreed to it and that would be excellent so you do it.

I think he meant 3-1...Matty setup two glorious chances that would have had the Flames up 3-1 if his line mates weren't being total stone hands.

I'd be pumped to get him for 5 years at 3.5M.

4th liners will be getting that in 4 years.

Colorado carried the play in every game. I'm assuming they also missed opportunities. You don't play sports in a vacuum. There is no basis to somehow suggesting that Calgary could have been winning that series with a bit more "finish".

They were up late in two different games.

Another goal in either game would have been a dagger.

On what planet does scoring more goals not help you win more games?
