In what world does one loss to the Oilers constitute a beautiful dream. A sweep is a beautiful dream. Be better.

Things that stood out from that comment:
1. The historic amount of shots/opportunities we steered Oettinger's way
2. The Stars aren't dumb, they knew to limit shots that move him side to side, every defence tries to limit those opportunities.

Nice to see how historic that goaltending performance was, and how the Flames overcame it. Sweeping the Oiler's and Mike Smith would be amazing, and the Flames have the horses to do it.

Making smith go side to side will only put him on LTIR

Mike Smith's biggest weakness is his (lack of) lateral movement. The Flames are well aware of this, and it was a primary reason that they let him walk.

It is true that the Flames didn't get Oettinger moving laterally enough, but it wasn't from a lack of trying - the Stars did a tremendous job of limiting the Flames' ability to execute cross-crease passes.

I think it is extremely unlikely that the Oilers will be able to do the same job defensively.

Two huge matchups in this series: the Oilers PP vs the Flames PK; and the Oilers defense vs the Flames' ability to generate offensive chances off the forecheck, with the extension of that being the ability to get Smith moving laterally.

Close to 100% correct.

Keep the puck away from Smith when putting it in , on the 4v.(dump-ins)

Their D are not good, under pressure.

Or they could always dump it to Smith and then stand in the slot

I meant game 6 when he left and didn't return. He went down and slid past the net on his belly and then you see 2 stars sticks get jammed under his neck from either side. Looked very uncomfortable

Sooner the better we need Tanev back to calm things in our own zone. Oilers surprised our D with being hard on puck battles and going to the net l. Also, McDsvid driving to net opens up other holes that our defense didn't react to well today.

Hanifan and Andersson played too much minutes it seems, but only 23 and 20.
Stone 17 mins, a lot for him.
23 for Z (team leader in ice time)
21 for Gud
13 for Kylington.

Devastating if true. He's a huge part of our identity.

I highly doubt he would be practicing as hard as he was if he needed surgery

Man, if we're going to make up stories and spread them can't people start happy news rumors.

That's not a fun rumour.

Ya makes literally no sense to practice and on top of that practice with a contact jersey on with your regular D partner. Its actually quite dangerous and stupid if true.

hopefully to the lesser extent and being "done for the series" seeing as we can win this one without him but if we want a chance at competing with the avs in round 3 hoping we get there, we're more than likely going to need him.

Well since we are speculating I have heard he won't be back for this series and possibly the rest of the playoffs. It's 3rd hand information but it's from someone that has had good information in the past.

Be that as it may, Kyllington better learn how to stand up on his skates. He was an adventure last night, flopping all over the place. Nerves, I assume, and no Tanev to calm him down. No better time for baby bird to fly the nest.
