That was a fantastic meal, and big enough portions that we'll have it for dinner tonight too! Thanks KTrain!

Did takeout from Hayden Block tonight.
They are selling 32oz beer and cider for $10.
Our order got messed up and we ended up with Brisket and Turkey Breast instead of just Brisket. I've never had the turkey before and it is excellent.

Juree Thai has a drive-thru window open now. It used to be a Burger King.

Bro'kin Yolk is great for a (takeout) Sunday breakfast/brunch. Their staff are also making lunches for children in need of food to help out the Brown Bagging 4 Kids program while schools are closed.

Last weekend ordered from Allium. It was fantastic. Vegetarian pizza during the week now too, bet it is dynamite.
Roys Korean Kitchen was last night. Roy is the owner and chef of Anju. Cooking out of Melo right now. The wings were just as good as always and so was the Bokumbap (Fried Rice). My Korean wife even emailed him some menu requests and he is looking to add in near future!
Anyone here do pizzaface? May do that one next week.

We did Alley Burgers from Charcut curbside pickup on Friday. Not exactly the old school classics from 10 years ago (beef instead of pork now) but still super tasty with a solid bun and good cheese and sauce. Pickup was easy and there was 3-4 cars waiting.
Did pickup from Big Catch sushi on Saturday. They are well set up with a place to wait and keep distance and lots of hand sanitizer. Their sushi continues to be one of my faves, the sashimi was very fresh.
Want to try Roy's soon and have a hankering for a Ship burger one of these weeks.

Workshop has announced a new delivery menu that will be available Wednesday.

I’m not sure how the food will travel but I want to support Kenny so I’ll probably order something.

Love that these chefs are doing their best under the circumstances. I also like that this is a great way to eat out at a largely discounted rate. Albeit you lost out on environment and the food needs some reheating.
Cassis Bistro is also doing take away as well I saw.
I am going to try Workshop as well.
Support these chefs!

Workshop was excellent!
Did dinner for 2 but they gave enough for 4. Not sure if that was right or they had extra and threw in. Had lunch off of it today and enough sides to have with a roast chicken tomorrow.
Got the Beef, one side of each, and each of the deserts.
I would get it again for sure!

‘Barely treading water’: Delivery apps’ high fees have restaurants seeing red
‘When your delivery partners are taking 25 per cent for the service they offer, it’s really hard to make money’
https://business.financialpost.com/n...oadsheet_promo
Quote:
“We’re an industry where our margins are very, very thin,” Rechichi said. “And at a time like this when 95 per cent of your sales are going online and your delivery partners are taking 25 per cent for the service they offer, it’s really hard to make money.”
In the United States, the tensions have provoked a class-action lawsuit against delivery services Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash and Postmates, with restaurant operators saying that the rates being charged were unfair.

Has anyone seen if any restaurants are doing a curbside Mother’s Day brunch type menu? It has been indicated to me that that Covid did not cancel Mother’s Day.

Not specifically for Mother's Day but Queen's Breakfast Cocktails has brunch takeaway every day.

Hotel Arts has been doing weekly takeout specials, and has a decent looking package for Mother’s Day
https://hotel-arts-to-go.squarespace...pick-up-may-10
Hint #1 - Book early. Don’t face potential wrath by waiting until late next week.
Hint #2 - The $20 Mimosa upgrade package seems like a no-brainer. On the other hand, I’d be interested to hear what happens when you don’t get it, and then tell her that you chose not to.
