Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Sam Bennett skated on his own earlier today. Won’t play tonight, team is hopeful he can play Thursday.
Mangiapane says he’s good to go. Little neck soreness but feels ready to return tonight. #Flames

I predict he falls on his first shift.

Think I had missed it on the game but thanks to PGT found out to, think the league should have at least had a phone call with Macdermid about that, since he has went after Bennett several times that game and the big hit last season to.

I could see the Caps starting Samsonov in net. Both their goalies have been good, though Holtby only recently after having a bad start to the year.

I'm going to the game, got a suite ticket and taking some clients. Have never been in a suite before, looking forward to it.

Talbot starting is a surprise. Going with the hot hand pretty early in the season.

Maybe. Some of this also has to do with game management. Rittich played in a designated Talbot-start, so this brings things back into balance @ an 8–3 split.

The game by talbot was a near shutout and damn close to stealing the game.
I think they had to give talbot the next start if he's feeling it like that.

First regular season game at the dome for me tonight. Taking my friends teenage sons to the game. They now live in BC, but cheer for the flames. Hoping the dome lives up to their expectations.
Monahan: Hoping Mean Monahan shows up, I like Mean Monahan!
Talbot: Hoping he repeats his stellar performance from Saturday night!
Johnny: Hoping he elevates his game like we know he can, maybe facing Ovechkin will be good motivation.
Stone: Thought he played much better on Saturday, (I’m sure his goal influenced my opinion), looking forward to a strong game tonight.
Lucic: hoping for a couple big crunches, strong board play, and simple hockey.

The problem with "riding the hot hand" is that the other goalie can end up losing rhythm in his starting routine. Rittich has been tagged by the team as their #1 goalie, and he will need to be kept sharp especially if the team has designs on a playoff run. Ideally both goalies are playing well simultaneously, and so far Rittich has looked consistently very good in almost every game. I would bet the Flames go back to Rittich on Saturday regardless of tonight's result.
