Oh yeah, just a wild scene.
Bacon and Beans... Mmm... Jessie, you want some bacon and beans?

J/k. I found the fact that Todd had put on so much weight very odd. Particularly for an actor who was still working fairly regularly. He's actually been a little bigger for a while now, and I wonder if he did this intentionally to increase his range and not get type cast as the Todd character.

The man is getting regular paychecks now and is subsequently able to eat well. Add that on top of the metabolism slowing as he's reached his 30s. Simple formula.

Or he stopped doing meth when the show ended. Either way.

He actually had regular work prior to BB as a main cast member on Friday Night Lights. However, he also played an athlete in that show, so was probably on some kind of exercise/diet regime, which kept him skinny by the start of BB.
also...the meth thing.

I thought he intentionally put on weight for Fargo. Prior to that he did The Program, playing cyclist Floyd Landis, so he was really small in that.

May have solved this...
Apparently, he put on the weight for "Black Mass". He then kept it on for Fargo. El Camino was filmed on short notice, so he didn't have time to lose it

The start of the movie blends in great with the show but then quickly fizzles out and seems to turn into a low budget action movie. Would have preferred the movie be stuffed with more call backs, flash backs and cameos.
Why didn't Jesse kill Todd in the desert? What am I missing?

As we all know, Jesse strangles Todd at the end of the BB finale, so you can't just suddenly kill him in a flashback and retcon the entire thing.

No of course not...I guess I'm just saying that scene didn't make sense to me.

It's pretty hard to wrap your head around a character that has been so physically and psychologically broken down as Jesse was. Remember, this story takes place after Todd killed Andrea, so Brock's wellbeing has to be at the foremost front of his mind.
Though I agree it's a little contradictory considering how bad ass Jesse is later in the film, but I suppose killing a couple knuckleheads is different than taking out a gang of Nazis.

It filled in some gaps in Jesse's story from the final season of BB due to time jumps and the focus on the White storyline.
Walt strolling into the hallway in the second last scene had me jumping out of my seat. Love that most of the characters got involved.
What brilliant story, the pilot to El Camino. Not a big deal that there wasn't a lot of meat to the epilogue. Was more of a sweet farewell tour for the fans.
I wish Aaron Paul was able to land more roles. He's talented.

Aaron Paul is going to be the principle in the upcoming Westworld sequels? Looks very very good.

When he first appeared in flashback thru the bars it obscured his face and I thought it was intentional because he’d gained so much weight they didn’t want to show him fully. Then when we got full Todd it was quite jarring.

I re-watched the finale of BB prior to the epilogue and thought things were quite seamless actually.
One thing I did not understand was the problem with the car at the beginning. What did the old guy discover under the tarp that caused him to bail and warn the boys to bug out asap?

IIRC, it was a LoJack. I believe he even indicated that it was turned on right when he was scanning.
