I just looked at their menu and I didn't know this but Tuesday nights it's Tubby Taco and on Wednesday it's Tubby Burger...and they have ones that actually look normal so I might check those out.

Oddly enough, Tubby Dog has become a live music venue. Seems kind of small for that?

I've been to several restaurants featured on You Gotta Eat Here and always found the food preparation grossly exaggerated compared to what you get in real life.

Agreed, but the Chuckwagon Grill in Turner Valley, was exactly as advertised.

That wasn't my experience with the Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus. I've been going there for over 10 years and the food they made on the show was exactly what you get. The only problem with the You Gotta Eat Here episode is it made an already busy place with 15 min waits for tables into a stupidly busy place with 25 min waits for tables.

The burgers on Wed at TB are pretty good. Crinkle cut fries too!

Tubby Dog for Lunch... Jelly Modern Doughnuts for desert.

You have to try the Gripper at least once in your life...

It's just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but it's worth checking out if your Fiance wants to. The owner can be a real arse hole though.

I'd check it out, grab a dog, walk down 17th on a nice day and find an excuse to grab a beer on a patio after. Win-win!

Anyone know where you can get a good "Chicago" dog in Calgary?

Sooo...did you go? Did you like it? Was it worth not being in the dog house? Of course it was.

Totally worth it. Skip the cap'n crunch dog and get the a-bomb or sherm's ultimate gripper.

thanks for all the advice guys. Much appreciated. She did a bit more research and we ended up going to Nainas and we both really liked it. She made the choice not me so I'm not in the doghouse. We will check out Tubby Dog or one of the other places suggested next time. You guys are awesome :-)

Yeah. I have had good results at some of he restaurants featured, most of the time I feel underwhelmed.

I think one of the better ones we got to try was Kekuli Cafe in Westbank (or" West Kelowna" as they call it now).

LOL strong this. Getting a woman to decide on a place to eat is like pulling hair.
