As Tyler pointed out, my renewal rate is $72 as well after just signing up for 50% off the first year.

I have had it for a couple of days and while I really enjoy the articles and writers I will not pay $6/month for this as there is enough free content to go around. If it remains in the 3-4 buck range I will keep it. It will have to do far better if they want to keep my subscription

My renewal rate is the same. $70 or thereabouts. Worth it. Got a discount in year 1. Happy to pay for excellent content now with more Flames coverage.

I cancelled my $72 renewal. When Haynes was hired, I signed up with another email address with the 40% deal.

For real? An extra $2.00 a month is where you draw the line? To each his own, I guess, but I can’t imagine cancelling at this point. I really enjoy reading the Flames, Vikings and NHL/NFL/MLB content over there. The CFL content is horrendous but I hold out hope that it will get better as the site grows in popularity.

Is Haynes still the Canadian Press writer for the Flames?

I signed up finally. Kicker was them adding two good flames writers of quality while the freebies at sportsnet hired francis who is probably on par with spector though not as bad as david staples in the worst paid nhl journalist stakes.

I don't mind kent wilson but there wasn't enough flames stuff there for me last year. Duha is great but sporadic.

I kind of miss George Johnson too wonder if they'd ever bring him on. Guess he's doing the rah rah stuff on the flames website now. Liked him as a journalist.

Finally signed up too. 36$ for a one-year run / trial is more than decent. If I like it, 70$ per year isn't bad. If I don't, will cancel.

Win-win!

(And thanks for the 50% off link!)

So far a couple weeks in it is trending towards canceling after the year. Content is okay but not worth spending money from what I can see thus far. While the site is okay the Arhletic still has work to do if I am going to pay $70+ a yeaR. The site is nothing special so far

$72 seems like a lot for the amount of Flames stuff last year but now with more writers I'll have to see. I would pay half of that just to read Haynes' stuff so I like the odds of me re-subbing, even at full price

Can you imagine if this turned into a grassroots movement where we actually unseat Sportsnet?
Snet has been produce garbage articles from garbage writers for years and we've been stuck with it.
Maybe this is going to catch on.
