I've been running the betas and installed the GM the other day, and I second Photon's suggestion to wait for a point release (or two) before upgrading. There are still a few annoying bugs that need to be worked out.
Really impressed with the tv app. The way it catalogs shows available thru other apps is handy.
Not a fan of the very busy looking control centre. Liked the old layout better. Didn't mind swiping for music with a clear interface on both pages. Seems like they just jammed too many functions on one page and it's messy looking.
What's the deal with the massive Messages header? Why does it take up 1/4 of my entire screen? Is this necessary? Does it have a purpose? Do they think I forgot what app I'm using? Annoying.
Drag and drop seems handy when inserting pics into an email or something but I only read about, didn't try it yet.
I haven’t noticed much improvement for performance on the 5s. It’s okay. Don’t like the big headers for Messages and Email either. They disappear as you scroll down, but still kind of look website-ish. Strongly dislike the little icons under the input box when you are composing a message. Can’t seem to get rid of all of them. The AppStore one can’t be removed.
Here is my iPhone 8 Plus unboxing and first impressions video.
I picked up from the Apple store in Market Mall yesterday at 10:30am. They weren't busy at all. Still took them 30 minutes to get my phone, which was weird Gave me time to look at an iMac!
I have some case reviews coming (Nomad & UAG) and I'll also be doing a camera comparison between this and my Samsung Galaxy S8 and possibly my Pixel XL.

As mentioned in the video, all I did was pull out the phone, launch the camera app and took the photo. No filters or colour correction used during or post.

Some of the close up photos seem to be where the iPhone looks much better, at least that corner-stone picture in particular, where the other cameras seemed overexposed.
I am currently rocking a 64 GB 6 Plus and have been since it was released. I am eligible for an upgrade and am not quite sure which direction to go in. the X is definitely out out of my price range so I'm looking at going to the 7 or 8 (looking to size down from the plus.
I can either upgrade to the 256 GB iPhone 7 for $30.00, upgrade to the 64 GB iPhone 8 for $80.00, or upgrade to the 256 iPhone 8 for $280.00.
I currently have over 10 GB's open on my 64 GB so memory isn't too big of an issue for me, but I would like to ensure that I have enough going forward. Is the leap from the 7 to the 8 worth it for the loss of memory and $50?
How's the battery life compared to the two phones? Any input is greatly appreciated!
I think the cost jump to the 8 in 265 is rather large, especially if you do not use it. I have a 7 with 256 and I hAve about 60gb free.
If you believe you will use the wireless changing go with the 8. I would also check what the tab is on the phones, sometimes the up front seem decent but there is a $200 to $400 dollar difference in the tab of a phone. I went with a 7+ over the 8+ because it cost me $250 straight up with no tab. The 8+ was “only” $49 dollars more at $299 but had a $700 tab on my account versus $0 tab on the 7+ so my choice was simple.

What do you mean by tab?

The amount that is subsidized on the phone over your term. Rogers, Telus etc have a balance on your account that was subsidized to give you the discount.
