Porn popups on Android device?

So I'm kind of in the dog house right now because my misses opened up my phone to play with her Tamagochi app. She has an iPhone and can't get it. Thing is, when she went to close down the app to save battery power like I showed her, the recent apps screen showed a cam site or something like that. She wasn't impressed to say the least. Thing is, it was opened in the stock Samsung internet and I have Firefox because I hated the interface.

Here is the thing that really gets me. I haven't used the stock internet since I got the phone which was when the Galaxy 3 came out. I also have never looked at porn on it. Ever. She is the only other person who knows how to unlock my phone too.

Any ideas how I can rationally explain this to her? I really wouldn't mind knowing what happened.

That's a strange one to say the least. I can't really think of a rational explanation other than

This is probably useless as this app shows you what apps are sending in terms of ads. Most of the stuff like admobs is safe but try it anyways?

Start a thread on a web tech-forum claiming ignorance, and looking for answers as to why this porn, which you never ever in the history of ever have looked at, popped up on your phone. Then show her the thread, and say "See...SEE?! I wasn't lying." Just hope nobody in the thread makes a post pointing out what you are doing.

Follow these directions, and it will all go away.

If it is a cam site then either your lying (which I assume not), or it is a pop-up from another site you or your wife went to.

If you never use the stock internet, then your wife has been on the naughty part of the internet on your phone and is blaming it on you.

Turn it around on her. Ask why she is jealous. If she says she is upset not jealous then ask why she is upset. It is because of her own problems and it isn't your issue IMO. It's your phone, it's your life, and it doesn't matter if you did or didn't look at adult material. Point out that is is her you come to every night... Ugh. Nip that in the bud now and tell her she should go see someone for trying to be so controlling.

I had a similar experience while browsing the herald site. Twice in a week. Never before or since. A new page opened in safari, though I was in safari. Super weird.

While your at it, get a security/antivirus app for your phone. Not sure if it would help in situations like this, but it might.

I have Lookout. It's free for most it's features and always checks anything that comes on the phone.
