I like that it is a 2022 2nd as well. More currency for what looks like a much better draft than 2021.

Given FLA’s history it has a better chance of being a high 2nd (though I hope they stay strong)

I have no idea how to assess players in Sweden. He isn't putting up great numbers at first glance, but he is also the youngest player on the team that plays in every game, so that has got to mean something. It's a league dominated by 25-35 year olds. Most of the best 18-19 year olds in North America would be hard pressed to light up the AHL, which is probably a close comparison.

Definitely like that we now have two 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks in 2022 after the Benny and Ritter deal. I like prioritizing the picks in the '22.

Oh no, Flames penalty box timekeeper has been let go by the organization, no work to do.

Seems like a very solid deal, although I won't lie, I was hoping Heponiemi would somehow be involved... I have an irrational fondness for Heponiemi.

Sad to see Bennett go. I wonder what he could’ve turned into if he had real coaches and line mates. He sure looked good in the playoffs and Sutter was making him quite useful. We need more players like him, not less. Oh well, this is part of the game.
He would’ve been left unprotected at the expansion draft so this is a really good return.

Good deal considering Bennett was not going to work here
I am not convinced he can be more than a middle 6 player
One of the 2nds should at least be that if they know what they are doing

Given the current trade market and the upcoming expansion draft this summer, this is borderline wizardry by Tre. Like many others, I hate to see Bennett go but it was clear that his big turnaround (if it ever comes) wasn't going to happen here. Yes there is angst about the highest-ever Flames draft pick not panning out, but given the circumstances this is an excellent return.
