People of a certain (advanced) age might remember Uncle Ben’s malt liquor in B.C. in the late 60s and early 70s. Cheap, 9 or 10 per cent ABV, and you’d reasonably often find giant fungus growths in the bottom of the stubbies. The LCB would give you another case if you brought in one of the infested bottles, but it was hard for underagers to find adults or minors with good fake ID to make the exchange.

Skunky beers happen. Pretty common actually and caused by improper storage. I've also had microbrewery beer that had particulate floating in it. Like powder that didn't mix into the liquid. I guess it's yeast sediment?
