TSN - Top 300 Scorers Projection
I think that the Johnny and Monahan will do a little better and one(maybe 2) of the Flames D will likely hit 50 points. And if they call the slashing and the penalties right and if the goalie equipment rule does come into play, than scoring will be up.

I don't see why Crosby wouldn't keep up to McDavid's pace and total or better if he plays a nearly full season. Don't see why they'd predict that his typically torrid PPG pace suddenly takes a hit....
I see Gaudreau flirting with 80 this season if he hits the ground running.
Monahan could hit or come near 70 if Gaudreau rebounds. At the very least a shoe in for 60 points again.

Doesn't seem like a whole lot in terms of bold predictions on that list from my quick skim through. Top 300 is kind of a ridiculous concept anyways, so inevitably you end up with someone basically taking last years actual top 300 and just making a few tweaks.... What your left with is basically everyone will do about the same thing they did last year.

This list is much better than the fantasy ones at NHL.com
I'm in the camp that thinks the Flames may struggle to score. When they get a few injuries, they might not have the top 6 depth to produce (so sign Jagr please).
But this list is still a bit too pessimistic.

It's weird that they're projecting Johnny to not progress at all, when he put up 78 the year before.

Well they can make 3 scoring lines as is so I don't see them struggling to score and I think they will still have a good top 6 when injuries hit. This is probably the deepest the Flames forward depth has been in my entire time of following the team since the mid 90's. We didn't have problems scoring when the lineup was thinner a couple years back.

The Flames were in the top half of the NHL in scoring last season in a year that several of their players also struggled early. I expect them to be at least as good this year, so I don't understand this concern.

I don't worry about the Flames scoring either. They also now have 3 pairs that can move the puck well, and a goalie that can also move the puck well. Flames should be a quicker transitioning team (I almost expect Hartley-esque transitioning in some ways), but reliable defensively.
For me, the only real question mark I have is in net, but I think Smith is a good bet to provide competent goal tending.

Despite the fact that TSN is now practically irrelevant and has now been reduced to showing gay porn (UFC) for ratings, these predictions seem pretty bang on. All the people predicting MASSIVE jumps for Flames players... I admire your optimism.

Who is predicting MASSIVE jumps for Flames players? Some of us believe that Gaudreau is a good bet to return to +75 points where he was two years ago, and that Monahan should be better than 60.
Those look like very reasonable expectations to me.

Looks like we should definitely pick up Jagr. 143rd on the list with 44 points but no team.
