Its not just about the players that are out there, its about where they're playing.
Spurs were lying deep and playing on the counter, Liverpool have to unlock that. Our best players at doing that are Thiago and Fabinho. Thiago might be dead for all we know and Fabinho is the only thing holding that back 4 together with any sort of cohesion.

these slow starts are infuriating. No intensity, just the same old lethargic crap. What the hell is Ole telling these players that they always need 30 or 40 minutes to wake up and actually remember to play football?

Big club nerves got to Henderson, I think. That's his mulligan. Made a decent parry to keep the 3 points with minutes left.
Could move into 2nd, if they win their make-even.

Big article in the Athletic, suggesting Chelsea will finally buy Declan Rice in January. The one signing that they should have made in the summer...

How much? Part of me hopes it's an insane amount so Chelsea spends all of their money, and part of me hopes it's a pittance so that the Hammers get almost nothing.

I believe in the Jays.

You will die of old age long before Chelsea runs out of money.

Yeah. Poor Frank. Just needed one more signing and he'd obviously be running away with the league.

I didn't say "one more" - I said "the one". I meant "the one they should have made instead of most of the others".

why the hell would West Ham sell him in January? Makes absolutely no sense, unless Chelsea pay absurdly stupid money.

well not really. What is Rice worth? 50, 60 million, something like that? That's not stupid money for a 21 year old holding midfielder with loads of talent. If I were West Ham, I'd ask for a lot more than that in January, and I doubt Chelsea would pay it. Even their pockets are not endlessly deep.
if they get 80-90 million for him in January, then fair enough. Selling him for 50-60 million makes no sense, you can easily get that for him next summer.

Oh I agree with you, I just get the sense that after the Transfer Ban, etc, that Chelsea are one of those clubs that are desperate to make a splash.

I'm torn tomorrow.
My Father in Law passed away this year and he was a die-hard Palace Fan.
I loved watching Liverpool vs. Palace with him even though Palace often made my life miserable.
Just hoping for a good, honest match with no nonsense. Thats all he'd have asked for.

Speaking of pockets not being endlessly deep, China's superleague is introducing a salary cap.

My condolences. For some reason I quite like Palace. I think going to a game there would be awesome as the atmosphere looks great. Hopefully Eze and Zaha combine for 3-4 goals tomorrow and do your father in law proud!

Haha, the commentary is hilarious at this point. I just turned this on, and the guys says something about “could be a big score line looming”. I mean yeah... it’s 5-0. That’s already happened!

Hopefully your dad didn't watch this one, what a statement from Liverpool.
