The unbun pizza crusts are singlehandedly responsible for getting me through. I have made my own pizzas with them, but generally splurge on either Paul’s or Jon’s pizza. Both use the unbun crusts.

Everyone please beware of products that literally say Keto in it's name. 5 times out of 10 they are not. You absolutely need to read the ingredients to confirm. Watch out for items that use soy, sunflower and agave.

The Keto name has been used as a branding name but isn't really keto at all.
(ex: Keto Crackers - Costco has these)

Unbun are pretty good but Costco does have Keto bagels and Save-On has Keto buns (and bread which i find isn't very good). These are very tasty, especially if you toast them. I find Unbun is just too expensive.

What's the deal with these though? Aren't they something like 1 net gram of carbs per serving?

Just going off the top of my head; they are 4 grams per serving. However a serving is only 5 crackers. I had originally bought them hoping for a replacement for Tostitos chips.

However a "serving" of 5 Tostitos is about 6 grams of carbs. So assuming I'm OK with just a serving of 5 or even 10; we are only talking about 2-4 grams of carbs difference.

It's like saying a regular pizza is keto; and having the serving size 1/20 of a 12" pizza.

CO-OP is starting to have a small keto section which is nice as they are next to my house.

They had some buns for sale, didn't get them as I didn't need them. Will have to give them a try next time.

Chips are tough. Only thing I've found is those "Droppin mad Beets" which are 2 net carbs per serving, 6 servings per bag. You can dip these in something like tatziki, or make soggy nachos with the entire bag.

Beware though, it's a giant serving of beets. Too bad fotze isn't around to describe what happens when you OD on beets......

The Quest chips are pretty good. Especially the taco and the spicy chilli flavours. Walmart sometimes has a few options in the pharmacy area- but I’ve been buying them by the box at Popeyes supplements. Either way they aren’t cheap- works out to 3.50 for a smallish bag.

However since losing all the weight it’s nice to be able to walk into Popeyes and not have them tell me “sir- I think you have the wrong Popeyes.”

Found some of the No Sugar Company bars and fat bomb cups at COOP last night.

There is a value pack at Costco but only have the flavours of peanut butter and chocolate brownie for the cups. They also have peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie dough bars.

At coop they had a lot more flavours. Cups - Mint, Brownie, Peanut Butter and chocolate chip cookie dough. Bars - Birthday cake, mint, cookies and cream, peanut butter and brownie.

I enjoy them as they help the candy cravings, my kryptonite, and low net carbs.

This was one of my favorite recipes when I was doing Keto.

https://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/eas...llos-low-carb/

I'm a big fan of lasagna, and this hit the spot!

They are 4 net carbs per 5 crackers. They also contain brown rice flour, agave, brown rice as well as tapioca flour.

these can work for a dirty keto diet for sure, as long as its not too much but they have way too many starches and agave is the worst of the sugars.

Keto is not just about carbs.

- BCAA's before noon workout
- Saturday one cheat meal
- Sunday free for all

- gym 5 days a week, golf 3 days a week, usually walking

In 4 months I went from relatively fit 40 year old to "what steroids are you taking"?

It's an unbelievably effective way of dropping weight.

Eating Tips:
- get boxes of Smart Sweets from Costco
- Save-on has specials on wings, sausages and skewers through the week.
- swap bean pasta for pasta
- Keto wraps off Amazon
- Keto buns are easy to find
- Sugarless ketchup
- Tuna salads drenched in Subway dressing for lunch
- bacon and eggs for breakfast
- flavoured pork rinds dipped in baba ghanoush (this is debateable, I smoke a lot of weed)
- Ice water and MIO drops
So you aren't actually doing a Keto diet then?

Technically you are correct. What Tron is doing; and what I did is better described as “low carb” as opposed to Keto. However it looks like we both had similar success using these methods.

The most important things to remember:
- No two people will respond in the same way.
- It has to be something you can stick with long term.

I’ve known people who have tried full Keto; and a low percentage of them have had long term success. I know of a lot of people doing something similar to myself; and are seeing better success. Also wanting to stick with it; as it’s something they can live with.

ya, i've been basically keto for 3 years now but only strict keto 3 weeks twice a year. So "dirty" keto. I don't believe that full keto can be sustainable for long periods. BUT my uncle did lose almost 240lbs in 2 years on Keto. I'm not sure if he was full keto but I'm sure following the basic rules will do the trick, if your strictly looking at weight loss

Is it keto if you aren't getting your body into Ketogenisis?

Or is it just low carb?

Decided to get back into keto again. Had got too much of a sweet tooth during Covid and gained 15 lbs. Lost 25 lbs quickly with Keto and am feeling great. The fats really help prevent sugar cravings for me. Love the way I feel again and can't wait to start mountain biking. Energy is way up.

I don't believe this is keto related but I saw this article about Mickelson and coffee and thought I would see if anyone here could comment about his coffee additives. Based on the article this regiment of coffee and 36 hour fasting has had a lot of benefits for him. I'd be interested in trying it out if it makes sense.

Quote:
Even when not fasting, Mickelson’s coffee blend is suited for the unique challenges of tournament golf. As with regular coffee, it has caffeine for bursts of energy. But since most coffee drinkers know too much can lead to edginess or the shakes, Mickelson adds an ingredient, L-theanine, designed to calm the nervous system.

To counter the inevitable hunger cravings of fasting, Mickelson also includes medium chain triglycerides (MCT) oil, also a component of the popular Bulletproof coffee blend, which provides calories while also boosting metabolism. He adds collagen, a protein that can promote healthy joints and skin; salt to counter the loss of electrolytes during competition; and lastly cinnamon, an antioxidant that also dulls some of coffee’s bitterness.

Suppiah says all of these ingredients make sense for Mickelson and plenty of others, with perhaps two exceptions. The doctor says he’s not convinced of the benefits of collagen. And since MCT oil is a fat that can increase cholesterol, it’s an ingredient that should be consumed in moderation for people with heart conditions.

“But even Phil uses this strategically,” Suppiah says. “He goes on these 36-hour fasts and just sips this throughout the day.”

Traditional keto diet with no fasting or exercise gets you into ketosis in 4 or 5 days. If you fast it’s quicker. If you exercise it’s also quicker. If you fast AND exercise you can get into ketosis in 24 hours.

I’d wager I was in full ketosis by Tuesday.

How do you know when you’re in ketosis? I know you can buy the sticks to pee on, but aside from that, are there some kind of telltale signs or things like that?
