Default Series Thread: North Division Semis: (1) Tor vs (4) Mon---Habs win series 4-3

All games are on Sportsnet and CBC in Canada.
NHL Network, CNBC will have games in the United States.

Game 1: May 20: Montreal @ Toronto 5:30 p.m. MST

Game 2: May 22: Montreal @ Toronto 5:00 p.m. MST

Game 3: May 24: Toronto @ Montreal

Game 4: May 25: Toronto @ Montreal

Game 5*: May 27: Montreal @ Toronto

Game 6*: May 29: Toronto @ Montreal

Game 7*: May 31: Montreal @ Toronto

Interesting news from Montreal confirmed today:

https://www.tsn.ca/montreal-canadien...me-1-1.1641836

Interesting news that Montreal will be sitting some players in game 1. Most notably Caufield who had 5 points (4 goals in 10 games).

Canadiens lines at practice:

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Toffoli - Suzuki - Armia
Perry - Staal - Anderson
Byron - Evans - Lehkonen

Extra line:
Frolik - Kotkaniemi - Caufield

Edmundson - Petry
Kulak - Chiarot
Merrill - Weber

Extra pairing:
Romanov - Ouellet/Gustafsson

Carey Price is also expected to be back and start in goal which could be big for Montreal. Will be a huge challenge even then to knock off Toronto.

Leafs lineup will be posted soon. They also have a question in goal. Andersen or Campbell? If it were me I would start Campbell in game 1.

My Prediction: Leafs in 6

My dad was a huge Leafs fan and I remember watching HNIC years ago sitting with him in the kitchen. Because of TJ and BSD, I will cheer for the Leafs this series in his memory.

I want it to go to game 6 just to see some fans in a Canadian rink. It will be a huge milestone and will be a huge boost.

Leafs fan are already bitching online about how it would be an unfair advantage to have fans and that the NHL should step in a ban fans in MTL if TO can't have fans at home.

Now that the important games between Flames v. Canucks are almost finished let the preliminary round begin!

No, but I doubt they win 2 games. They won 24 of 56 and have no business being in the playoffs.

Looking at the team rosters is funny. Have you seen the Habs projected 1st line for game one? For most teams it would be a third line.

But the Habs are playing the Leafs. And Leafs will do Leafy things. This will go to 7 games and the Leafs will likely lose.

Go leafs! It’ll be a 5 game series, unless Price gets into God mode.

The series shouldn't be close but I'm not giving TO an easy win. Their goaltending is pretty unpredictable.

Price into god mode combined with Leafs goalie implosion, which both are kind of likely.

Cheering for the Leafs as they have a better chance at knocking out the Oilers in the second round should the greasers luck their way into the second round.

Plus this is the one time I find it awesome how the over the top Leafs love will overshadow the McDavid circle jerk and piss off Oiler fans.

At this point, anything against the Oilers and their fans I am all for.
