Pinder arguing a stupid point this morning. Suggesting Seattle wouldn't take Monahan in the expansion draft.
Come on man. Warrener and boomer are dismantling him.
Yeah Monahan is a shell of his former self but he is not worthless. Even if he returns to his form of last year he is a 25 goal scorer.

I did months ago. Without a single regret.

Any radio or TV debate where its just people shouting over each other is awful. I like the morning show but the moment it devolves to something like that I'm out. Reason why I can't listen to the afternoon show. It gets abrasively loud. Its why I hated watching Tim & Sid. Sid's fake rage. I remember hating Doug Maclean & Nick Kypreos on Hockey Central as they would just shout over each other. Its awful listening / viewing.

When Pinder, Boomer and Warrener argue, you get the sense that they like each other but are trying to debate for the sake of radio. Pinder's job is basically to be the devil's advocate.
When Nault and Wills argue, you get the sense that they're actually offended and taking it personally. Steinberg is basically a mediator.

That's how I see it. Pinder has a point about Monahan's value cratering to the point his contract is now negative value. And I agree that a Monahan trade likely means you're taking salary back on a similar player looking to bounce back.
But then suggesting Seattle might not take him for free? Not many 26 year old centres who have the potential to score 30 goals will be available in expansion.
Anyway they were debating the actual hockey angle, not taking things personally.

I remember when Gary Roberts had little to no value then went on to another 11 years of better than solid hockey.

See...i don't believe that for a second. Since he came into the NHL 16 guys in the entire league have scored more goals than him...16....thats it.
You dont just lose that ability at age 26 unless there is something else at play, like injuries. And Pinder thinks that he has a negative trade value? Its laughable.
But Pinder is "that guy" where he is so ridiculously stuck on his takes, he becomes a smarmy prick even when he is cooked in a debate.

This. It makes a world of difference. Listening to the morning show guys is like listening in on a bunch of buddies having a conversation and ribbing each other for their differing opinions.
Listening to Wills and Nault is like listening to an argument between co-workers who hate each other and get offended by each other's opinions, and Steinberg's the mediator trying to calm both parties down. It's really uncomfortable to listen to. It often feels like Steinberg's walking on eggshells with trying to not set Nault off. I've honestly stopped listening to the afternoon shows because of Nault, which is unfortunate.

Yeah it's wrong to say Monahan has negative value. He doesn't. But his contract is reducing his value right now, so I suppose it's negative in that sense.
Thing is with Monahan is you don't know what you're getting. The player of this year, last year or the years previous?
I don't have the personal dislike for Pinder. I expect these guys to debate things and I have no interest in listening to someone who sees everything as i do.

Pinder didn't have a good morning. I get that Monahan has had a down couple of seasons but he's talking like he's pure trash which is just wrong.

I don't recall it quite like that.
I thought Roberts wanted to be out east to reduce the strain from travel, and the team obliged.
