On that note, what are people's other recommendations for good Greek-style pizza? I enjoy Paul's, Top's, Crispy Crust, Eddie's Nest, Olive Grove, Jon's (though the last two are hit and miss in my experience). What other spots does this group enjoy? We're in McKenzie Towne so that factors in as well.

It's pretty far from McKenzie town, but Spiros on 17th Ave serves up a great pizza.
Monza Pizza in Ogden is worth a try too.

I think the story is Spiros begat Sophies- which might be somewhat closer to the South part of the city.

I would imagine. It's possible they lost a supplier or something, but with the quality dip I'd imagine it was cost.

Sophie's is pretty much our standard Friday night pizza spot now. It's so good.

Sub their pepperoni for the ham, and that's been my go-to at Sophies since it opened.
Expensive but worth it.

7 years ago I spent a week on the Filipino island Boracay, and there was a pizza shop run by an Australian dude on the roof of a grocery store. He specialized in Naan pizza, and to this day it's still one of the best pizza's I've ever had. So if you're ever on that island and the owner is still there I highly recommend checking it out

Grocery store naan bread is far superior than any grocery store pizza crust and is definitely the way to go when you want to make a quick "ready in under 20 mins" personal pizza.

Interesting. Our kid loves naan but won't eat homemade pizza. Worth a try. Curious which will be the dominant trait that wins out.

Not sure about that area, but Sammy’s is south and good pizza. I prefer the Bannister location, good stuff. Not close at all, but Niko’s pizza is great if you’re ever near the beltline. Others mentioned Spiros. Michael’s makes a mean pie as well.

Couldnt agree more about Niko's. It super cheesy. Its a nice treat for my wife and I.
We have tried Jon and Connie's - I was a fan although my wife not so much. Her complaint was that it was greasy. We both agreed though their wings we pretty darn good.

They're both good pizza, but I prefer Spiros.

Just ordered Sophie's tonight after recommendations in the thread. I'd put it at mid-range. Atlas & Sammy's are better to me. Will have to try Spiro's now.

Went to Pink Door the other night.
I wasn't a fan, but my daughter was pushing hard for it.
I got the:
CALAVERA
slow roasted pork carnita, avocado + chipotle crema, cilantro, roasted jalapeno, pineapple, mozzarella, cotija cheese
Honestly it was a solid pie. Hot, sweet, tasty.
Really good.
My wife got here regular:
YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE
blackened sirloin, caramelized onions, crispy fried onion, gorgonzola, pickled fresno chile, cajun butter, mozzarella,
I hate gorgonzola, she loves it.

Finally tried Pink Door Pizza last night. Had the Nashville North and was pleasantly surprised. I'm firmly in the "chicken doesn't belong on pizza" camp but made an exception for this one and didn't regret it. Will be back for more.
