All the music and writing is from just one guy too, Tamás Kátai.

This came up in my YouTube recommendations. I'd never heard of it before (I know Roadrunner records though), but it's kind of cool. My 25 year old self would have loved this concert!

I've been on an Isis kick lately. I forgot how incredible and heavy these guys are. Celestial has to be one of my favourite albums of all time.

I love this band so much. Every song they release is a banger.

Any power metal fans should check out the new Orden Ogan album, they hit the perfect balance of classic heavy metal without soaking it in cheese

Also Control has one of the best sequences in any video game of the last few years. Blasting enemies through a trippy shifting maze while this song matches the tempo of your movements is crazy awesome

I really wish Poets of the Fall would release a full metal album under their Old Gods moniker, their regular albums have gotten way too sappy for me

Yeah, Gojira is consistently awesome.

One of my favourite tracks of theirs is one that might be unknown to a lot of fans since it was going to be on an EP that was lost when a hard drive crashed. The one surviving song features Devin Townsend and the lead guitarist of Meshuggah too:

Lamb of God covering Bad Brains. I'm a Bad Brains fan from way back. Not that familiar with Lamb of God, but I enjoyed their cover of one of the best punk/hardcore bands ever.

That new Gojira is pretty good. For me personally there's about half the tracks that are bangers and I need to listen to the others more.

To me this sounds like their Anthem album. Every band does one. Parkway drive it was Atlas.

It's not bad as they still crank out some killer jams but it definitely has a "I'm throwing my devilhorns up in an arena at the concert" focused vibe to the whole thing. Instead of a continuous mind melting ravaging of your ears.

Yeah I've done a couple full spin-throughs on the new Gojira and it's top-tier as usual. They walk a great balance between being "accessible" but still cool to hardcore metalites. I don't listen to as much super-heavy stuff as I used to but there's always a place for Gojira.

I've been on a bit of a Meshuggah kick lately as well. That dense, gigantic sound of theirs is so bloody fine (and they have something new on the way!).

I was at the Eric Church concert with my wife a few years ago and during the intermission between sets they played the Magma album. Highlight of the event for me...

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the new Gojira. Musically it's not too bad, although the middle section of the album (4-7) is terrible. But for me the production is the big problem, feels pretty weak on this, very flat overall.

I don't mind the new Gojira. Even the pop song "The Chant" kind of works. It's more accessible which isn't necessarily a bad thing as I consider them kind of the Euro-Mastodon.

Hanging Garden have released an outstanding new album. Too bad it's May, that would be a killer soundtrack for October and November lol.

I really dig VOLAs new album. Took a while to get used to it because it's prog in its catchiest form possible, but I like creative bands that push limits and disregard genre boundaries.
