I would have thought we'd see Gaudreau-Monahan-Coleman, but I'm not shocked to see Gaudreau and Monahan back together. If it sticks - it makes sense. We're quadrupling down on this core up front, and at it's best it was on the backs of the Gaudreau and Monahan duo. Hopefully a healthy Monahan can tie things back together.
Dube - Backlund - Pitlick looks like the line I expected to see. Could be a good one! Reading "Lucic-Richardson-Lewis" made my eye twitch...hopefully that clicks, but I'd love to see Ruzicka push his way onto that line.
...I do not like Zadarov with Tanev. Give me Valimaki + Tanev! Valimaki getting paired with Gudbranson is like Bennett getting slapped with Jankowski and Brouwer. It's all kinds of bad.

Both Tkachuk and Gaudreau belong on the left side. Makes sense to start with them on different lines. I’m sure we will see those top 6 mixed in many combinations through camp and the season

Somewhat interesting that Kylington “beat out” Mackey for being on the main group
Makes me hopeful that Sutter is considering giving Kylington a good look at camp because he recognizes that the team is light on defencemen with offensive upside. I know Kylington has not produced much at the NHL level yet, but he has the tools to do so.

Kylington has a two-way contract and Mackey has a one-way.

I wouldn't read too much into it right now. Keep in mind that this is Mackey's first real NHL training camp, so they might not have wanted to throw him into the deep end right away.
Mackey doesn't require waivers to be sent down, so he'll almost-certainly start in the AHL until there's an injury in the NHL anyway. They might as well get him used to working with those guys.
I'd say the preseason games are what's important, and I expect both of them to play a lot in those games.
