This comes after what appears to be Evander Kane's wife instagram (not sure if anyone credible has confirmed that is her, but there are people claiming that is her account) accused him of gambling on his own games along with abandoning his wife and kids to feed a gambling addiction and appearance of lifestyle.
#### this is getting real. Could have massive implications. Above all else, I am hoping for the continued safety of those close to Kane who have been negatively affected by his behaviour.

Dude really needs to start putting his family and dependants (believe he had other 7 people living under his roof at the time of his bankruptcy filing) first.
That means stepping away from everything gambling. And if that means seeking professional help to accomplish that, then its a route he would be wise to pursue.
He really needs to just keep his head down, do well at his job, stay fit and collect paychecks for a while. That's the only way out of this hole. And that's how you redeem yourself and make your family proud.
Basically, just stop beating yourself over the head with a hammer already.
Obviously there are much more important things to worry about with this news such as his family and people close to him that have been affected by his problems… but San Jose is likely to get out his contract right when it starts to turn into a really bad contract. Am I correct in that? Richards contract was just terminated by the team/league for drugs. This is even worse in terms of its effect on the integrity of the game.

I hope they don't. It's not like everyone didn't know Kane was a risky character when they signed him.

Any team should be able to get out of a contract of a player whose off ice conduct is harmful to the game.
We can complain all we want about inconsistent officiating but these accusations are, if proven true, are much more harmful on the image of the league and sport.
Yeah if they do find evidence of him betting on his own games, it would be grounds for terminating his contract as well as a long if not life time ban from the NHL. His NHL career would be over.
His creditors would be so mad. The remaining contract is their primary way to recoup the money he owes them.
I do wonder if it is grounds to lose his NHL pension too.
Likely scenario is that he avails himself of the NHLPA Counselling Program (which I'm sure includes behavioural addictions like gambling). Then let the chips fall where they may.
He won't be starting the season at the very least.
