Please Help Me Oh CP Nerds

Okay so here's the dealio---

I can't get into my Hotmail account. Messenger and everything will log in just fine, and it'll tell me I've got X number of new e-mails...go to click on the thing, and the page will open and connect but never load. Also, my mom has discovered she can't send any e-mails through Outlook...I think it's kinda like what happened to MoneyGuy except that our internet isn't wireless at home (well, it's wireless in the sense that we get the signal from a satellite, but it's not wireless throughout the house)...any ideas as to what's wrong?

I am guessing this is an ISP issue but need a bit more info,

You didn't say directly, but I am guessing you are using MSN to launch IE and check email? Have you tried connecting to your hotmail account directly through your browser?

Your mom has your home ISP based email that she is checking at home or is connecting to her work or another ISP ( Shaw/Telus/Rogers ) email account that is not the ISP you are currently using? Is she able to check it via webmail?

What ISP are you using and where do you live ( roughly ) in relation to your tower, and have these problems been happening for a long time or just the last day or so?
