I was there briefly last night as well. Had a good time. Was pretty quiet till I left around 9 though I heard it got busier.

Its a pass for me, Usually I go down with a buddy for one day, enter the lotto's get my corn dog, and some other tasty belt busting tweets, wander around, see the super dogs and on the way out get some mini donuts.

It just doesn't feel that appealing this year.

The musical guest line up is surprisingly decent. Groups like Default I imagine would draw a lot of people in CP's age range.

But if you're not fully vaxed that feels like trouble. Close proximity, people screaming.

You'd be standing in a shower of strangers' saliva droplets for a couple of hours.

Concerts will never feel the same again will they.

Yeah, I can just see a surge happening after Stampede and in about a month they'll be regret for rushing this thing in.

That Tweet pic from Nashville North - do they have COVID protocols in place to get in? That seems unnecessarily packed. That looks like no protocols were in place for capacity, spacing, etc.

I heard NN has implemented rapid testing to get into, so yes, it's not quite the gong show it appears to be from afar.

Proof of vaccination or you can do a rapid test on site I think.

I see. Any idea what the brand / accuracy / turnaround time is on the tests they are using?

I just heard from a friend that it's a 15 minute wait to get your result. All I know.

Well if all those people were fully vacc'ed / tested negative, hope they had fun. I wouldn't do it personally but I hope people that do attend have a good time and that the event was run as safely as advertised.

I think the stampede is likely way safer than most fear and it 100% should be allowed to occur given our COVID numbers.

That said, I am not going just in case, but I don't feel others should be limited by view as I think the risk of large societal spread is minimum.

I'm not going, but I think the last year or so has made me re-evaluate where I want to spend my time and the Stampede was honestly not missed. It was never my thing to begin with and now it's on a list of things that have completely dropped off my radar.
I don't think there is a safety issue at all with Covid, I've heard more people excited about the pancake breakfasts than the actual stampede.

Got to listen to a known anti-vax employee rant about boycotting Stampede this year because of the Nashville North rules.

Rapid testing is apparently an affront to their belief systems or something.

I'm not going but it's more a function of I just can't spare any time from work, I had to turn down rodeo tickets next week. Our sales guys are in full Stampede mode lining up rodeo tickets with clients, other events etc.

I'm not going. I usually only attend every couple years because it's mostly the same vendors, rides, events, etc. year after year. This year there will be even less so I don't see the point if the prices haven't dropped significantly.

You can get the original "Those Little Donuts" at their trailer in the Chinook Staples parking lot! Good as always...

Ditto. We typically go once every few years as usually at least one band on the coke stage we want to catch, but we’re still easing into sitting in restaurants and seeing folks outside again.

I don’t know what the risk factor is this year, but a stripped down stampede at full price isn’t enticing enough to draw me in.

My partner loves the rodeo. But there's no way we're going this year.

We had a laid back gathering with half a dozen friends last night. I smoked some pork, we listened to country music, and a few of us wore our cowboy/cowgirl outfits. Everyone in the group was double vaxxed so we were able to just relax without the looming threat of covid, didn't make a big deal out of distancing or occasionally stepping into the house. I'm sure JK would have said it was the best stampede ever.

(also the pulled pork was to die for )
