Maybe you do not care much about the future of the Republican Party. You should. Conservatives will always be with us. If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.
Always end up coming back to that quote.

I actually don't think that applies just to conservatism though. Any group who feels as though they can't gain representation through the electoral system is going to try to circumvent said system.
The difference with conservatives is that they are overrepresented in the current system and still want to play the victims.

Like, Alberta / western Canada?

There’s this ad that’s been airing in the U.S. attacking Coke. Some of the claims it makes are true but it was produced by a conservative group and its primary gripe is that Coke is “woke”.
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has signed into law legislation that bans state or local mask mandates for preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
The bill is the latest measure the Republican governor has signed to curb the state’s restrictions because of the pandemic. Hutchinson Wednesday signed bills prohibiting the state and local governments from requiring vaccinations against the virus or “vaccine passports" to access services.
Do Albertans fall into the first half of that post, or the second? If we're talking in terms of pure percentages, progressives probably have the biggest gripe with being underrepresented in Canada. Although even that claim is tenuous because of how fractured the left always is (id-pol neolibs, green socialists, democratic socialists, social democrats, marxists, etc.).

Not this guy in particular - but this is by far the most common mistake made by people in the pandemic. Every time cases go down declaring this is over and we have to learn to live with the embers of the fire. Fast forward a few months - turns out everything is on fire again.
Not sure if its wishful thinking or just unable to look beyond what is happening in the moment but there's been so many instances of spiking the ball at the one yard line during this pandemic.

I try not to rush to judgement in these sorts of matters anymore, but it's clear he has a long history of this behavior that clearly crosses the line. Add in his position of very high power and it cannot go unpunished.

The ironic thing about Cuomo, if he was a Republican they would have circled the wagons and defended him to his death. But Democrats? They will sacrifice another in a significant leadership role to win a game no one really gives a #### about. Conservatives relish this, but it doesn't make them change teams. You aren't winning over Republicans by eating your own. You just find more creative ways to lose.

Sorry, what? Are you saying he shouldn't be impeached for sexually harassing women?

I find it pretty gross when people will excuse deplorable behaviours because of political alignment.

No, I'm just saying that the Republicans would have handled this differently and would have made everything go away. Add to that, conservatives don't give a #### about this woke stuff. In fact, when one of their guys does it, they get him a seat on the SCOTUS or as POTUS as a reward! The contrast is stark and is part of what divides this country. Liberals, especially the woke type, lose their #### over this and make sure they get their pound of flesh to make them feel better over such things, guilty or not. Conservatives, especially the Trump conservatives, don't give a #### about sexual harassment and don't think it exists - the woman put herself out there. Just pointing out how ####ed up the United States is.
Cuomo will get what he deserves, but you can bet this wouldn't be an issue if he were a Republican.

As do I, but it is a reality of living in the United States. This country is broken and beyond repair in so many ways.

So Democrats shouldn’t oust people who sexually harass people because it hurts their leadership? People who do this are not leaders of the Democratic Party. If republicans want to continue to stand behind gross people, they will just continue to marginalized themselves. Why do you care if this is a divide? It should be a divide. Democrats don’t want to vote for people who do these (or other “non woke”) activities.
PS. Using the word “woke” to invalidate sexual assault allegations doesn’t make you sound like you think it does.
