Habs preparing for a new level of Sim Hate

GM Goffie once rocked a top line of Ovechkin-Crosby-Malkin when all 3 players were in there prime. News flash they stunk. It is public knowledge that the sim has a long-standing hate on for top level talent.

Welcome to a new level of Hate! The Habs have acquired Leon Draisaitl from the Dallas stars in exchange for Aleksander Barkov and a 2nd round pick.

Leon and Conner were 1-2 in scoring during the 2021 NHL season. That should translate to a whole lot of nothing in the sim.

We picked up Barkov to be the #1 centre and provide 2 way play while Mcdavid cherry picked on line 2. That plan went out the window and the goal now will be an all out attack.

This flawless strategy will likely lead to an early playoff exit.

From the Dallas perspective, we enjoyed Leon's perennially elite rating but also the flexibility to play him at all 3 forward positions. He sims well and led us to a championship. However, our roster was growing stale and this move was made more out of boredom then anything.

Barkov is an elite 2-way center and brings a very different look to our top line. I like our 2-way center depth now with Barkov, Hertl, Copp.

Not sure what to do with Horvat now...maybe Hertl shifts to the wing...
