New York Islanders GM TheScorpion is thrilled that his team managed to acquire one of the top young defensive prospects in hockey.
"Victor Soderstrom is a superbly talented young player. We envision him being an Islander for decades," said TheScorpion on Monday morning.
New York acquired Soderstrom, along with Evgeny Kuznetsov and a 2022 third-round pick, from the New Jersey Devils on Sunday evening.
They sent Jaccob Slavin and Denis Gurianov to New Jersey in the deal.
Soderstrom, 20, is rated 65 overall in the CPHL sim with a 70 scoring rating. He played four NHL games with the Arizona Coyotes in 2020–21, tallying his first career goal and adding an assist.
