Kylington is 20 years old now, and too old for this tournament
and before anyone asks, Parsons will turn 20 in September and also be too old for this tournament
Just waiting to see if Finland brings Tuulola

It is great to see Phillips get some recognition. Listed as 5'6", it will be interesting to see how he does this summer. If all these guys make it I'll likely watch more games this tournament. Great to see more Flames prospects getting some action in this tournament.
Thanks for posting, as always sureLoss.

I know zip about him. I've looked around for news on him. What's the attraction? What might he be like?

I read somewhere (at least I thought I did) that Tuulola signed in Finland for this upcoming season. If true, I wonder if that increases his chances at making the team.

update:
as was announced at Flames development camp, Tuulola and Valimaki will be attending the Finnish summer camp
The camp runs from July 22nd through July 26th in Finland. At the end of the camp (which includes 2 exhibition games against the Czechs), they will cut the roster down and fly to NA to play Canada, USA, & Sweden in exhibition games.
roster here:
http://leijonat.fi/maajoukkueet/u20/...a-joukkue.html
Finland on defense is very strong on paper. 9 out of the 10 players they are taking to this camp are NHL draft picks but are still missing 1st round picks like Juolevi and Jokiharju. Pretty impressive feat. I think only Canada and Sweden has been able to do this in recent years.
The only other Flames prospect that will likely go to a WJC camp is Ruzicka but I have not been able to find any information about their summer camp or if they are even holding one.

Six or seven picks going to WJC camps is another indication of building organization depth - good to see.

Just looking at the Canadian roster - that Jets pick Logan Stanley looks like a beast at 6' 7" and 231 lbs at 18 yrs old.

An article I read a while back suggested he was a very smart 2 way center and a good skater, his biggest need was to get stronger. Reminded me of another Swedish center we drafted 10 years ago

This is a team our Adam Růžička has had very little relationship with according to Elite Prospects. Elite Prospects has no other Slovakian Adam Růžička in their database though.
Of note is how few players (just 3) not playing in Slovakia have been invited. This is because one of the other main objectives of the camp and tournement is to chose who will play for the Orange U20 team. This is a team that plays in the Slovak Elite League every year and usually form the base of their World Junior team with foreign-based players added later.
This may be why but I don't have enough ability to figure out that level of nuance and Google Translate didn't make it any clearer.

Ruzicka was drafted by Bratislava in the KHL Draft. I think the one they're referring to there is him.

Some news from the Finland camp. Played their 1st game against the Czechs today and won 3-2. Tuulola scored a goal, Valimaki wearing the C for the Finns and was on the top pairing paired with Vaakanainen

how many edmonton prospects are attending WJC camps this summer? I'd like to know for when a co-worker inevitably brags about one or two guys that are going - I will try to teach them basic math at that point, that 7 > 1 or 2 (I don't expect it to sink in though)

There's 5 on the Canada and USA rosters alone. Not sure about the Euro teams.
