Rube already mentioned this but it's kind of insane. So the Pentagon investigates itself after drone bombing 10 civilians (including 7 ####ing kids) and they determine they didn't do anything wrong because if was just a mistake?? How is there no accountability for this?

"We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong."

Appalling. Any other country did this and the U.S. would (rightly) be calling it a war crime.

What a shocker.

Quote:
An analyst who was a primary source for a 2016 dossier of allegations against Donald Trump has been arrested on charges that he repeatedly lied to the FBI about where and how he got his information, officials said Thursday.

A 2019 report by the Justice Department inspector general found major problems with the accuracy of Danchenko’s information. But the 39-page indictment unveiled Thursday paints a more detailed picture of claims that were allegedly built on exaggerations, rumors and outright lies. The indictment is likely to buttress Republican charges that Democrats and FBI agents intentionally or accidentally turned cheap partisan smears into a high-stakes national security investigation of a sitting president.

The indictment also suggests Danchenko may have lied to Steele and others about where he was getting his information. Some of the material came from a Democratic Party operative with long-standing ties to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, according to the charges, rather than well-connected Russians with insight into the Kremlin.

The allegations cast new uncertainty on some past reporting on the dossier by news organizations, including The Washington Post.

Well this whole thing was the liberal version of "the election was rigged." Just a whole bunch of copium being inhaled to avoid any kind of self-reflection.

I don't really see the problem with selling arms to Saudi Arabia.

They're either your ally or they aren't. Saudi Arabia is in a pretty intense conflict / situation with Yemen and Iran right now so they need all the help they can get. Biden's general withdrawal of support out the gate with the Saudis was a really bad move for America as Saudi needs their support. Saudi Arabia's military is not that strong so they need to rely on America and America can't expect OPEC to soften energy prices if they aren't willing to support OPEC's chief producer.

It's basic geopolitics and it's pretty much that simple. Weapons sales happen by all countries all over the world all the time. People need to come to grips with the realities of the world and the problems many of these regions are facing. Yemen is in deep crisis and needs the Americans / Saudis for support. This isn't about "one brown dead baby" it is about supporting your allies.

They're one of the most repressive regimes in the world. It undermines any arguments a country has regarding human rights when you support a regime like that.

They are the most important supplier of oil to the United States. They are a geopolitical ally in a region where allies are limited. They provide a solid foot hold for the projection of American power in the region, so you look past a lot of #### to have that access. It is part of geopolitics, something that is so beyond the regressive left it is painful at times.

It's a good thing the Yanks and Brits sell equipment and weapons to the House of Saud. Otherwise, how else would the Clown Prince's forces bomb hospitals, markets, infrastructure, weddings, children, and housing areas?

well my guess is they would buy them from the Chinese and Russians who would be eager to stitch up our oil supply and pretty well destroy the wests economic dominance of the world

If you think the KSA sucks now, you'd love it if the House of Saud fell and the theocracy took over.

We're stuck with #### because the alternative is worse. Welcome to the grey area of geopolitics.
