We are talking about the playoffs not the regular season. Its about getting to 4 wins, doesn't matter if you win by 1 goal or 6 goals just win.

We've had a "great" defense core for years and its gotten us nowhere.
Maybe Kylington would've got more ice and developed more?

Not quite as badly...However, I think Talbot really disguised how bad some of their play has was. Without Talbot standing on his head, the Stars could have easily gotten another 3 goals in some of these games.

Talbot has been solid, but he hasn't been standing on his head, IMO. Dallas has dominated possession,but most of their shots have been from the outside and from the point.

Qualifying offers just for Zadorov, Namestnikov, Nieto and Burakovsky would be $12M+ so signing those 4 is probably more like $15M.
There are other to re-sign as well, but if they just did those 4, that would leave them $7m to sign 5 minimum wage guys
They can't sign Hall (unless they want 7 or 8 minimum wage guys)
