Nice push by the Islanders, or should I say collapse by the Flyers, to get in. Hurricanes in 6 again for the second year in a row.

Canes are the best bet in the East IMO. Just really well rounded.

Season series is 2 wins each but islanders got both their wins in overtime. 3 of 4 games were decided by 1 goal.

Canes in 6.

Too bad it's not Rangers and Islanders. This one is Canes in 5, 6 games max. Them and the Rangers might both be waiting a while to start their second round series.

Really excited to see who Carolina starts in net

Kotchetkov played great this season and seems ready, but Andersen has been a stud (13-2) since returning from missing most of the season. Canes are stacked.

Kind of have the same question about New York. They seem to have flipped to Varlamov lately. If I had to bet I'd probably say Andersen vs. Varlamov, but wouldn't be surprised to see all 4 goalies in the series.

Canes are top 10 in almost everything. Islanders are bottom of the league in almost everything.

I can see the Canes getting goalied.

I'd bet any amount of money on Sebastien Aho's team winning.

Canes in 5. Just too much firepower. Good on Roy for getting the Islanders into the playoffs. However as someone else mentioned they were fortunate the Flyers fell apart at the waist seems. A -18 goal differential is awful. To put it in perspective the lowest goal +/- in the west is Nashville with a +21.... even the Flames are only -19.

The East is wild. The President's Trophy winning Rangers have a 5 on 5 goal differential of +1. The went into their 82nd game against Ottawa with a negative differential.
